Monamore is a 20ft luxury insulated yurt located at the lower end of our orchard amongst ash and sycamore trees. It contains a log burning stove (incorporating a small oven and hob for cooking), solar powered lighting and smart phone charging point. It sleeps up to six people via a double bed and two double futons. Alternate sleeping configurations can be provided if preferred, including a cot. All bedding is provided. It has its own dedicated private bathroom housed within our nearby bathroom block and all towels are provided. There are shared pot-washing and laundry facilities housed within the bathroom block.

Inside the yurt has a laminate wood floor and a large 6ft larch wood wheel flooding the yurt with light or providing wonderful star gazing opportunities. In addition to the double bed there are comfortable futon sofa/beds, a food preparation area, a dining table and chairs and all crockery and cooking utensils.

Outside there is a picnic table and a firepit with log seating and slow cooking equipment.

{b}Shepherd’s Hut – perfect for a romantic break{/b}

The Shepherd’s hut was built to our specification. We wanted to ensure that it could accommodate a full-length bed for maximum comfort (who wants to sleep crunched up unless you’re a dormouse?) as well as a wet room equipped with a shower, basin and an upmarket self-composting loo.

A drop-leaf oak table was fitted under the triple windows to maximize working space (although it is difficult to remain focused on tasks when the view is of the beckoning Brecon Beacons, but it’s great for somewhere to spread out the weekend papers). The attention to detail is wonderful with oak floorboards, underfloor central heating (even in the wet room), sheep’s wool insulation in the walls and a wood burning stove for good measure.

Even the ironmongery was sourced and made locally. Once built, it was finally winched into place (quite a feat of engineering in itself) so that the largest window looks out towards the aforementioned Brecon Beacons, the window over the bed looks up across the field towards a majestic oak whilst the view from the stable door is of Hay Bluff and the Black Mountains. Amanda set to with her sewing machine to make the soft furnishings as well as upholstering the chairs. She then rummaged around in the barn and in local shops to find the remaining pieces to give the hut its finishing touches.

Outside there is your own private hot tub to soak away the aches and pains of the day. You can relax on the swing seat on the decking and enjoy the panoramic views whilst supper cooks in the pizza oven or BBQ. As dusk melts into night you can marvel at the stars in the Dark Sky Reserve whilst toasting marshmallows over the open fire.

Each morning Amanda will bring a continental breakfast hamper to your door.

The Shepherd's Hut 

Our canvas tent, surrounded by nature, features two bedrooms with up to 8 single beds each, complete with snug bedding and charming decor. The cozy living room area serves as a perfect family hub for shared moments and laughter. 
Our Bell Tent apartment consists of two-bedroom facilities and a living room/chill-out area all connected by adjoining rooms. Perfect for family and friends reunions or hen parties alike.

{b}Seren Mawr Glamping Pod{/b}
Seren Mawr is a generous 8m diameter glamping pod with a superb 5m wide window to maximise the magnificent views and light. This is the perfect place to escape from it all for a special romantic break. It is equipped with a brass bed for a restful night’s sleep in crisp cotton bedding on a goose down topper.

A wood burning stove adds to the cosy atmosphere with armchairs to relax in and a dining area to enjoy the meals created in the well-equipped kitchen. Rugs and animal skins litter the floor and feel sumptuous underfoot. Lighting is provided by lanterns, creating a romantic mood.

Whilst supper is cooking, you may wish to peruse a book, play a game of cards or Scrabble; perhaps pore over a map to plan your itinerary for the next day. There’s even a wind-up radio so that you can listen to the weather forecast or your favourite program.

In its own private setting this is a very cosy and warm yurt. The Ger has a central wood-burning stove and is furnished with three raised pine beds - one double and two singles. The beds are decorated with colourful throws and cushions creating a wonderfully warm ambience. Bedding can be supplied at extra charge - and we supply a chest full of blankets if it gets a little cold. There is a gas hob inside the Ger with all the cooking equipment, utensils and crockery you could need. You will have a basket of firewood for every day of your stay (£5 for ny additional baskets) and there is also a private campfire just outside the Ger (perfect for outdoor cooking!) as well as a picnic bench.

Tucked away in the upper corner of the field, Seren Bach (meaning Little Star in Welsh) is the new addition to the glamping pods at Argoed Barns. This 7m diameter luxury camping pod still has a huge 5m wide window to capitalise on the stunning views and light yet has the added benefit of a viewing window in the apex through which to admire the night sky for which the Brecon Beacons has justly earned its Dark Sky Reserve status. As tastefully and thoughtfully designed as Seren Mawr, this is another perfect dog friendly hideaway for a special romantic break or for those needing a digital detox.

Like its sister, it is furnished with a brass bed for a sumptuous night’s sleep in crisp cotton bedding on a goose down topper. A wood burning stove complements the cosy atmosphere with a sofa to cwtch up on and a dining area to enjoy the meals created in the well-equipped kitchen. In Seren Bach you don’t even have to pop outside to do the washing up as the sink has been incorporated within the kitchen area. The insulated floor is scattered with rugs and animal skins to enhance that decadent feel.

With an easy to use central wood burning stove and a basket of firewood - ready and waiting for your arrival. There is a dining table and a storage chest full of blankets in case it gets a little cold during the night.

The Lavvu also has a gas hob and all the cooking equipment, utensils and crockery you could need! Outside there is a private campfire area, seating and a picnic bench - perfect for a spot of outdoor cooking or roasting some marshmallows!

Skoolie Stays is an icon of the American road, lovingly converted into luxurious accommodation in Sussex. It offers up to 4 guests a chance to stay in fantastically unusual accommodation in a beautiful part of Sussex close to the South Downs National Park.

The bus was inspired by the owners' 14,000 mile, year-long family road trip across America in a similar Skoolie. They fell in love with bus life and, when it came time to return to the UK, the whole family agreed - they had to ship one back to the UK.

The Skoolie Stays bus is a product of the knowledge and skills they developed over their year away, full of clever ideas and hand-built, design-led decor.
