'Rosa' the beautiful gypsy caravan (shepherd's hut). A family friendly environment, experience off-grid living in comfort! This colourful and spacious hut is great for couples and families wanting to reconnect with nature. 'Rosa' will comfortably fit 4 people (an extra bed can be provided for an additional child on request) making it great place to base your family holiday. During winter the wood stove will provide ample heating. There are gas hobs and all necessary utensils for cooking, plus a charcoal BBQ outside. Yoga mats are available as well as picnic blankets and garden furniture. 'Rosa' is connected to our up-to-date solar system to provide plenty of evening lighting and can charge laptops, phones and any other small electrical devices. This ancient vineyard offers a stunning and unique get away. The gypsy caravan is situated on a stone walled terraced enclosed by grape vines. This offers guest privacy and seclusion with their own compost toilet. There is also an indoor kitchen area with gas hobs, plus outdoor washing up facilities.  
Walking trails that lead to the river can be accessed directly from the site.  We can help guests with planning activities, such as hiking, fishing, water sports. We can give you details about the best places to explore, enjoy a picnic or eat out!    The local lake is very popular with fishermen and prize winning carp and river bass can be caught. We can assist guests with obtaining a fishing license.  The direct surroundings of Dragonfly Valley offers a splendid place to enjoy the peace and beauty of nature, to watch the birds or take part in some of the many activities available:  1. Hiking trails 2. Mountain biking 3. Quad hire and go-karting 4. 4x4 off road thrill seeking tour 5. Paintballing 6. Kayak and canoe hire and tours 7. Speed boat and jet ski hire 8. Fishing with chances to catch Trout, Carp, Barbel, Tench, Bass and Bream. 9. Relax at one of the many river beaches also known as Praias Fluviais. They offer a safe place for the children to swim and amenities such as toilets and cafes.  
Visit all the picturesque villages in the direct surroundings such as Pedrogão Grande, Pedrogão Pequeno, Mosteiro. A little further down the road is the world heritage site in Tomar, or the historical university city of Coimbra just a 35 minute drive north.  Own transport is advisable to make the most of your stay but we can arrange pick ups from the local town.  We have plenty of safe parking available.   We are only a short walk to the lake, and 30 minute hike to a high quality restaurant and river beach.  

Please bring with you drinking water and be aware that their is no refrigerator. A coolbox is provided with ice blocks that can we swapped over daily.  There is lighting in the gypsy caravan and toilet, but please bring torches to help light your way as it is very dark if you return to site at night. The star gazing is amazing though!   Please be aware that we provide bed linens but do not provide towels, as the washing load would be too much for our off-grid system.  The access to the property is down a dirt track which is a little bumpy in places.   As a rural holiday let we must advice that there are areas of uneven ground, hence we can not provide specific access for the infirm.  The accomodation is situated on a lower terrace and involves an at times steep walk from the car through the vineyard to the secluded terrace.

The yurt is fitted with up-to-date solar system to provide plenty of evening lighting and can charge phones and many other small electrical devices.  We have made our own solar hot water panel for summer use and compliment this with a newly installed gas powered shower for all year use, so the yurt is now an even more comfortable space to be in.

In a biodiverse space, the isolation and the reduced number of stays allow us a wild environment.
The space is completed with good environmental practices and good agricultural practices (organic agriculture and permaculture)

Lirium - Harmony and sustainability

Ricardo was a lovely host, very communicative, generous and welcoming.
There are signs that lead to the property so it's easy to find.
The lot was certainly charming and gorgeous, clean and equipped with good facilities. A lot of space to explore in and around.
Super recommend to visit Lirium!

Arrived in front of a closed gate at midnight. Booked an available spot and... nothing. No answer, no instructions. We turned around and drove to a new place. My message to get a refund has been ignored.

Dazu gehört auch die AUSSCHLIESSLICHE Nutzung von biologisch abbaubaren Reinigungsmitteln (Spüli, Shampoo) Bei Bedarf stehen kostenlos entsprechende Reinigungsmittel zur Verfügung!  Andere Reinigungsmittel sind NICHT erlaubt!

Fantastic little house in the middle of a very nice garden. There's everything you need for your stay and it's only 15 minutes from S Martinho and to the shops. Ricardo is very nice and although I didn't meet him in person, he was very helpful. Recommended!

The Peniche Motorhome Park is located in a very central residential area of the city, offering motor caravanners a fast and easy access on foot to a wide range of places of interest. The space has capacity for overnight 60 motorhomes with plots with an area between 27 m2 and 43 m2. These have water, electricity (paid separately) and WiFi internet, offering excellent conditions of stay.
