About this place
"When you are in the place called the quantum field and you feel like you already have everything you dream of, you don't have to fight anymore. Creating something through the field creates changes in three-dimensional reality.” – Dr. Joe Dispenza
Our tiny home is located in Springwater Gardens, Toolangi, with a charming mix of native vegetation, exotic European and Japanese trees with a picturesque pond too. We are in the heart of the Yarra Ranges and a gateway to the Yarra Valley with its world famous wines, wildlife and activities. You will enjoy a very special, tranquil, and remote time here.

Within the property are two ponds that are served by a natural water spring that trickles out of the hill just at the tiny house and of the closest pond to you. The property's filtered water comes from this spring, including the tiny house. It is pure mountain water.

As you wander around, you may see that there are bushes on the property that are critically endangered. The round leaf Pomaderris appears in only a few pockets around Toolangi and the largest is along the eastern edge of this property, bounding with Spraggs Road. You can see them behind the abandoned caravan just to the left of the ponds before the forest closes in.

The property you are on is around 6 acres. 100 metres away from the tiny house is our main house which is around 114 years old. In 2009, the Black Saturday bushfires went through the property and over the main house. Up to now, you can see the blackened trees around. Luckily, the fire stopped around 100 metres beyond the property towards Toolangi centre, at Spraggs Road that runs along the eastern edge.

Toolangi means "tall trees" in the indigenous Taungurung dialect

The space
Our tiny house is a lovely studio space of 155 sqft. It offers guests a comfortable stay with its well-equipped kitchenette, complete with a queen sized bed, ensuite bathroom, air conditioning and heating. Perfect for 2 persons!

The kitchenette has everything you need to cook your light meals with. A portable cooker, cookware, cooking utensils, cutlery, dishes & silverware, microwave and even a mini fridge. The portable cooker can be kept in the drawers when not in use to maximise space.

Our bathroom facilities follow ecologically sustainable principles, including a waterless eco-friendly compost toilet, hand basin and shower (gas heated for hot showers). In Australia's severe climatic challenge of bush fires and drought, we help to save the environment by conserving water using an eco-friendly toilet. Wastes are broken down in the compost toilet via an aerobic decomposition process. It is a water less system (no need to flush!), whereas a standard dual flush toilet would use up to 350L of water per week. An aeration fan helps in the decomposition process and minimizes odors.

If you're using your own soap, shampoo, tooth paste, we ask that you bring biodegradable ones so that the grey water runoff does not harm the environment. Thank you!

Guest access
You will have access to the entire 4 acres of gardens except the main house and shed. Most of it is forested and with 2 ponds. You may see the garden, ponds, trees, and the Yea River on the corner of the property.

Other things to note
– Bikes are available. Please ask with your host on the availability
– The property has mobile reception and 4G
– There is an outdoor fire pit and a gas bbq too
– We are situated in the countryside and you may encounter insects such as spiders throughout your stay as these are part of the natural ecosystem of the bush
– You may see and hear many birds during the day. On evening, there are possums and there may be a wallaby, wombat or deer but very rarely do you see them

      Neighborhood
We have a very lovely neighbourhood with friendly locals, magical forests and local food and wine. You can't see them but you know they will be there for you in times of need. That's how close knitted our community is!

There’s some lovely gems to explore – the forest, wineries, chocolate, food, wildlife.

      Our local recommendation:

      Food Scene
There are plenty of wineries to enjoy tasting at along Melba Highway. I recommend Yarrawood just out of Yarra Glen and Steels Gate just at Dixon’s Creeks.

There's Four Pillars ginnery and Watts River Brewery near each other in Healesville.

Yarra Valley Dairy is between Coldstream and Yarra Glen – decadent cheeses.

For dinner options, I recommend The Healesville Hotel or Herd Bar in Healesville or the Yarra Valley Grand in Yarra Glen. For a real local feel, there’s The Grand in Healesville and the Kinglake Pub in Kinglake. There's pizza, noodles, fish 'n chips, souvlaki, Indian in Healesville too.

The best cafes are mocha and lime in Healesville, Heartswood and The YG Spot in Yarra Glen or Songbird Cafe in Kinglake.

For a treat, take yourself to the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie just this side of Yarra Glen near the roundabout. It's like Willy Wonka's!

      Sightseeing
The Wirrawilla Rainforest Walk is a must. Head up Sylvia Creek Road, it’s about a 20 minute drive through Toolangi township -> http://bit.ly/2KHRovp
And the Kalatha Giant Tree is only a bit further on.

      Shopping
Healesville = Coles, IGA and Aldi
      Yarra Glen = IGA
      Kinglake = Foodworks
