Accommodation description
Momella house, an authentic, romantic cottage from 1880 that is stylishly and rurally furnished with African accents. A picturesque place with a beautiful, very spacious garden overlooking the beautiful Burgundian hills. A view that makes you forget that you are in France and not in the East African hills. We also offer plenty of space in the garden to relax. On the covered outdoor terrace is a long table with comfortable canvas chairs that invite you to a delicious dinner party in the open air! In our very spacious enclosed garden overlooking the beautiful Burgundian hills, which enjoy the sun all day long, there is also a picnic table that guarantees a delicious country breakfast. 'Momella' was the name of a farm in the immediate vicinity of Mount Meru in Tanzania and was the setting where the Hollywood movie 'Hatari' was filmed in 1962. It was this film that fueled Robby's passion for Africa in his youth. During his many safaris in Tanzania, he has repeatedly visited this picturesque place. Because 'Kimaro Farmhouse' is interwoven with 'safari nostalgia', Marleen and Robby have named the cottage in Le Châtelet 'Momella House'. You will therefore find many accents in 'Momella House' that refer to the East African vintage period and rural living is associated with living in a warm colonial style.

Secret tip
In addition to silence, space and nature, Burgundy can also be proud of the art treasures in its museums, castles and abbeys. And when the forest gives way, rhythmic rows of vines run to hedges and villages. The Burgundian hospitality is older than tourism. You will be greeted warmly and sincerely in a region that already attracted the medieval traveler. For as the focal point of a still early monastic life, Burgundy attracted countless pilgrims. A visit to Vezelay, with its famous basilica, is well worth it.
