Vinterveien is located in Hafsrød, which is one of Østfold's largest forest properties. Hafsrød operates nature-based tourism and is Green Key certified. We offer rental of cabins that were formerly forest workers' homes, and offer slow experiences in green surroundings. The property is currently run by the fifth generation, Ingeborg and Andreas, who live on the Hafsrød farm a few kilometers from the cabin.

Vinterveien is a former forest cabin located right on the water's edge of Lake Store Erte. Near the cabin you will find both the Fuglen and Ømyr nature reserves, as well as tourist destinations such as Nansen Hotell. This is part of what is called Ankerfjella, which is a very scenic area with few people, little light pollution and beautiful silence.

The forest cabin is located completely on its own within a dead-end road, with the road all the way to the front. Vinterveien consists of a main cabin and a stable, and does not have running water or electricity, but has solar panels for lighting inside the main cabin. The rental includes both the use of two canoes and life jackets.

Room description
Vinterveien consists of a main cabin and a stable. The main cabin has two bedrooms (one with a double bed (180x200), and one with two single beds (90x200)), a kitchen and a living room. The stable has two single beds, and in the neighboring room there is a bio-toilet.

The living room consists of a large common room with a kitchenette and a sofa corner. The kitchen has a gas stove and a gas refrigerator with freezer.

A cleaning fee is added to the price, but the tenant must wash the dishes and take the trash with him on departure. It is possible to additionally order both bed linen and towels (250 NOK/person), a food box with local products (750 NOK/person) and nature packages where you rent equipment such as fishing rods etc. (from 300 NOK/person).

The winter road is open for rental from March 1st to November 1st.
