Covid-19: safety first

The safety of our community is our top priority. Since the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that COVID-19 is a global pandemic, we encourage hosts and guests to commit to a list of safety standards, in an effort to slow its spread and continue enjoying nature with peace of mind.

Wear a mask

Hosts and guests must cover their nose and mouth with a mask at all times when interacting. Masks must also be worn by both hosts and guests while in shared or common spaces

Social distancing

Hosts and guests should keep a distance of at least two meters (six feet) from each other at all times. If it’s not possible to maintain this distance in shared spaces/amenities, hosts should consider temporarily restricting guest access to ensure everyone’s safety. In the meantime, you’re welcome to find a tree to hug instead.

Check local laws and restrictions

Every country has implemented various safety measures, oftentimes down to specific localities. Be certain there are no travel bans in place, and that you are allowed to travel or host in these areas before creating listings or making travel plans. If you’re able to host and camp in your specific area, be sure to double-check which COVID-19 restrictions apply before proceeding with booking and hosting. You can review guidelines from authorities in local areas:

Cleanliness

At Campanyon, we always ask that guests leave a space as clean - if not cleaner - than they found it: this becomes even more important when considering COVID-19 safety measures. When departing, guests should take extra precautions to ensure that there are no masks, tissues, organic “leftovers” from food and/or humans, or general waste left on the property. If possible, wash and/or sanitize your hands frequently throughout your stay.

It is understood that outdoor spaces are generally lower risk regarding COVID-19 contamination, but in addition to normal cleaning procedures, we ask that hosts also take extra precautions when preparing their space for the next arrival. Be sure to thoroughly clean and disinfect any shared amenities (such as bathrooms) before and after all bookings. If possible, provide access to soap or hand sanitizer to guests during their stay. Inform guests of additional measures and/or changes in property access or policy due to COVID-19 restrictions.

No parties or large gatherings - for the time being

Hosts should consult local regulations before creating listings to ensure that the amount of guests included in a booking complies with COVID-19 specific regulations. To ensure everyone’s safety, external guests who aren’t registered on the initial booking should not be allowed access to the space.

Cancel your booking/travel plans if exposed to Covid-19, or experiencing symptoms

If there’s a possibility that you could’ve been exposed to COVID-19, or if you are experiencing symptoms yourself, please do not proceed with travel or hosting plans. This also applies if you are awaiting COVID-19 test results, or if someone in your household or at your place is experiencing symptoms, or may have been exposed. There will undoubtedly be ample opportunity to travel in the future. For the time being, please do not risk causing harm to yourself or others by hosting or traveling irresponsibly.

Are there any specific cancellation policies due to COVID-19?

Although we are aware of the possible changes of plans that can happen in unpredictable situations linked to COVID-19, we encourage hosts and guests to take precautions before and during the booking. All safety measures should apply (masks, social distancing, enhanced cleaning). If you have to cancel your booking - as either as a guest or host - because you’ve received a positive COVID-19 test result, please reach out by  or by emailing us at
