Accommodation description
For up to 6 guests. Great for pets and families.

Our riverside cabins are very comfortable and you should have everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Each log cabin is fully furnished with a full kitchen, outdoor BBQ and has a cosy fireplace. There is a Nespresso coffee machine for yummy capuccinos.

There is one separate bedroom with king-size bed plus 4 single sofa beds in the main room. While all cottages have the same bedroom and floor layout, each one is furnished slightly differently. Some cabins have balconies, others have wide open spaces.

Turon Gates accommodation is self-catering so bring your food and drinks and a beach towel with you if you like the idea of swimming in the river on your doorstep.

Your pet is welcome to stay with you. Do bring bedding and feeding bowls, look after droppings and please no pets up on the beds or chairs.

Turon Gates is environmentally friendly and we use only gas and solar energy. And by special plan - no TVs or wifi - simply enjoy the serenity of the Australian bush! Please note there is no mobile phone reception down in the valley and there is no telephone in the cabin for your complete rest and relaxation. The manager's cottage is approximately 2km away.

    About the place and area

Description of my place and location
Soren and Sonya Lunoe first came to Turon Gates in 1972 on a camping trip. They fell in love with its natural beauty and, after 4 days, decided they would love to retire there some day. Their dream was to create a bush retreat close enough to get away for a few days but far enough to leave the hustle and bustle of the city far behind. Each cottage location was carefully selected to afford complete privacy and stunning outlooks over the rolling countryside or over the tranquil river.
Turon Gates spreads over 6000 acres of natural Australian Bush where wildlife abounds. Tranquil and unspoilt, the property is located around 2.5 hours from Sydney CBD with pet-friendly accommodation options. It is located in the Blue Mountains foothills, around 45 to 60 mins drive from Katoomba, Mudgee, Bathurst & Lithgow.
With well-built private rustic self-catering log cabins, glamping tents and campsites situated along 12 km of crystal clear trout stream and cottages with sensational mountain views, Turon Gates is an idyllic escape in the Australian bush. With lots of activities and unique places to visit nearby, there is much to do, or nothing to do - the choice is yours when you come to Turon Gates!
Turon Gates is now managed by Michael Lunoe, Soren and Sonya's son, and his wife Alex. You are welcome to drop in to the Manager's Cottage for a cappuccino or a glass of wine.
But if you just feel like being alone, the nice thing about Turon Gates is that you never need to see anyone. It's totally up to you.
And for the meantime there are not many places where you can get mobile reception at Turon and wifi is limited - and that's just the way we like it.

        Cleaning Up
All customers need to use the Turon Gates amenities. By leaving it and your campsite clean and tidy, everyone will find their stay more enjoyable.
Small pieces of plastic may be considered food by wildlife and is dangerous for wildlife to consume. All rubbish including tiny bits of plastic and wrappers must be removed and placed in garbage bins provided or taken with you.
Must be kept under control and on a leash. If your pet has a tendency to bite or be unfriendly, to either humans or other animals, you must keep a muzzle on it as there are young children and other pets who may approach your pet when you are not looking. Droppings must be attended to. Pets are not allowed in the camping showers / toilets and may be tied up outside the amenities while you use them.
        Payments & Refunds
You must advise the correct number of guests and pets prior to your arrival.
        Check In and Check Out
Check in is any time after 3pm. Check out is before 10:30am. If we don't have guests coming in, we are usually happy to offer a late check out at no extra charge so that you can enjoy Turon as much as possible - please feel free to ask the Manager after you arrive on site.
By making a reservation with Turon Gates, you agree to any cleaning, breakage or damages to property belonging to or leased by Turon Gates.
You agree to ensure your cottage is left in good order with dishes washed and put away. A cleaning charge will apply for extra cleaning. If pets are allowed up on furniture this generally will result in a cleaning fee as dog’s hair and muddy paws needs a special clean. It is forbidden to leave your pet alone in the cabin; any pets found unattended will result in cancellation of your trip without accommodation refund.
        Bringing your Pet:
Pets are welcome in Log Cabins and the Pet Friendly Glamping Tent with a few simple rules and there is an extra charge for pets.
NB: Pets may not be brought to the Adults Only Luxury Glamping Tents. If you bring a pet or child to stay in our Adults Only Luxury Glamping Tents, your accommodation will be cancelled and you will be required to leave the property. No refunds will be issued and a $250 deep clean fee may be charged.
        1) Please bring your pet’s bedding and feeding bowls. Please do not use our pillows, doonas or bedspreads for bedding nor bowls from the kitchen to feed your pet.
        2) Your pet is allowed inside but not up on beds or chairs in log cabin accommodation. Please remove their droppings.
        3) Your pet must be kept under control at all times. Wildlife can be very tempting to chase after. Your dog does not have to be kept on a leash as long as you are certain he will come when called.
        4) It is forbidden to leave your pet alone in the cabin if it is not locked in a crate; any pets found unattended will result in cancellation of your trip without accommodation refund.
        5) In the pet friendly accommodation, if you bring an extra dog without informing us beforehand, there will be an additional $150 cleaning fee applied to your card per dog, regardless of the size of the dog.
