At the foot of the spectacular mountain Tustnastabben lies the scenic Grautaneset. On one side, you have a view of the sea where you can enjoy the sun disappearing into the ocean at sunset. On the other side, you look straight up at the mountain Tustnastabben, which rises 830 meters above sea level. Grautaneset is secluded by the mountain, shielded from the hustle and bustle of society. Grautaneset is not far from the sea. Here, it is possible to fish, swim, or simply relax on the smooth rocks and enjoy life.

The municipality of Aure, and especially the island of Stabblandet where Grautaneset is located, is known for fantastic hiking opportunities in the mountains. There are two mountain ranges on Stabblandet, the compact Innerbergssalen/Stabben along the west side of the island and the mountains Storøra and Litløra that continue in a smaller ridge along the east side of the island. Between these lies the valley Soleimsdalen. Innerbergsalen, with its 908 meters above sea level, is the highest mountain in Aure municipality and also the highest island peak in Southern Norway. The island of Tustna is just across the strait from Grautaneset, where there are also good hiking, fishing, and adventure opportunities.
