Upon your arrival, Nicolas will warmly welcome you and lead you to your accommodation—a spacious 6-meter bell tent, boasting 28 square meters of rustic charm. Inside, you'll discover the comfort of two kingsize beds with pocket spring mattresses and soft cotton bedding, promising nights of unparalleled sleep.

Stepping outside onto the small porch, immerse yourself in the breathtaking panoramic views of the valley and rolling hills. Nearby, a quaint iron stove stands ready, catering to your rustic cooking needs and ensuring piping hot water for your morning coffee or tea rituals.

Amenities: 

To the left of the tent, you will find your own private outdoor wooden shower, supplied with towels and refreshingly cold water from our well. Nearby, your private "dry" toilet is available for use, utilizing fine straw as our preferred carbon-rich organic material, later repurposed as compost. 

Additional Services: 

♡ We offer optional preparation of breakfast and/or lunch upon request, available at an additional cost. Please inform us of any dietary requirements or allergies when making your reservation. 

♡ Additionally, guests can purchase our homegrown 'liquid gold' olive oil and olives, as well as other organic, fresh produce depending on availability at the time of your stay.

♡ Guests have the option to purchase sustainable all-purpose soaps from us or bring their own eco-friendly solutions.

♡ We also offer our washing machine services at an additional cost and upon request. Please let us know if you would like to avail yourself of this service during your stay.

♡ Please be advised that there is no bell tent cleaning service during your stay, which includes towel replacement. However, if you require additional towels, they are available upon request for an extra charge.

My recent stay at the Bell Tent in Vale Amado's Oliveira, Off-Grid was absolutely delightful. As someone with a creative profession, I often need to unwind from the hustle and bustle of city life, and Portugal holds a special place in my heart. The serene surroundings and off-grid accommodation in the valley were exactly what I needed. Surrounded by lush greenery and picturesque walking and sports trails, I found the perfect escape. The spacious Bell Tent provided excellent facilities, including Wi-Fi, ensuring I could stay connected while still enjoying the tranquility of nature.

Besides that, Nicolas, the host, was fantastic—he's really chilled, allowing you to do your own thing, but he's also incredibly knowledgeable about the area, technical issues, or fun facts. Additionally, his knowledge and expertise regarding nutrition are extensive, and he always manages to make delicious things with local products. The olives from his orchard are, in my opinion, his specialty.

I highly recommend this retreat to anyone seeking a peaceful getaway in the heart of Portugal!

Completely blown away by this unique experience. In the middle of Portuguese nature I found stillness and also there was adventure (cycling, hiking) around the corner if i wanted it. Grateful for the warm and generous host who accomodates in an excellent way. Will come back real soon!!

We had the best time since long! What a beautiful place, the 360 view is amazing and it's idyllic nature at its best. The kids loved the coziness of the tent, the dogs, the sounds of rhe cowbells during the day. If you look for simplicity and some decadence (great beds and super food, plus a very friendly and energetic host :), this is the place to relax.


Unique spot on a mountain comb overlooking a lush green valley. So if you’re into star gazing, forest walks and quiet nights then this is the place for you. We stayed in the bell tent with our 4 year old son who loved it. The owner Nicolaas is very accommodating, communicative and his lunches are epic. All organic and with local ingredients. Will definitely visit again!

We are delighted to welcome you to Herdade Foz da Represa, a unique destination in the beautiful municipality of Mértola. Our estate is built around a grand 19th-century mansion, once a meeting place for the Freemasons and a backdrop for several national films.

Wine Tasting: Group tastings start at 16h00

Classic Tasting: Taste three 50ml servings of local wines (white, red, or rosé) for €15 per person.
Additional wine and food sold separately.
Gastronomic Wine Tasting: 3 glasses (3x125ml) with Petiscos (€38 pp), offering a rich, meal-like experience.

Camper Spaces:

We offer 10 spots, combining space and privacy. While we don't provide water, sewage, or electricity, we do offer a safe parking area for self-contained campers.

Two single rooms, one at each end of this charming wooden building. Small and uncluttered in true Zen style, these tiny cabins are at the edge of the camp, overlooking the cork oak valley and beyond, but still close to all facilities. They are not interconnecting. Each one has its own little deck so you can sit outside and enjoy the wild nature that surrounds you.

Over the Edge Farm

This is a beautifully re-fitted caravan with long views across the hills and sheltered by a magnificent old cork oak. it is conveniently located within a short walk of the kitchen, yet quiet within its own space. It has a double bed and a single fold-out sofa, so can fit up to 3 people.
