Arctic Dome - Smeland is located in a scenic spot near the Logna river that winds through the terrain. Here you can try your luck at fishing. A rowboat and kayak are included with this Dome. You may be lucky enough to see the beaver that is often present in the river flowing past.

The Dome is beautifully located in the terrain with a short distance from the parking lot. There is also a path that you can use if you want to walk down to the campfire site where the boat and kayak are. And there is also a nice place to hang up a hammock.

The Dome is approx. 25 m2. and contains a double bed and a couple of chairs and a table and a small sofa.
On the window in the roof you can follow the clouds and stars. Every day there is a new "painting"
There is no electricity at the Dome, but heating is done with a wood stove. The price includes a small starter basket of firewood and if you want more firewood you can buy this as an extra. 140 kr / bag. Paid on site. Lighting is by candlelight.

Right outside the dome you will also find a simple outdoor kitchen with gas burners and the most necessary equipment for simple cooking. For domestic water you use water from the river. Drinking water can be obtained free of charge from the owner. Biological compost toilet right outside
You can borrow kayaks and rowboats for free but bring your own life jackets. In a river there is always some current so remember that if you are going to swim a little further into the river. Never swim alone and always use a life jacket in the boat and canoe. A fishing license is included in the price. There are trout in the river.
The water level in the river can vary a bit as the Logna river is regulated.
There are lots of hiking trails in Åseral municipality. It is approx. 3.5 km to Åseral Kyrkjebygd center with grocery store, gas station, bank etc.
Almost directly behind the dome there is a hiking trail up to the mountain. A bit steep, but suitable for experienced hikers. The owner also has another dome a few hundred meters from this one, which would be a good alternative for several people vacationing together.
The place where the dome is located is new this year, 2025. And will be nicer outside when everything is green and nice.

☆There is no shower at the dome, but it is possible to rent a barrel sauna or hot tub at Håvestøl nature camp nearby.
☆Spring and autumn are cold at night. It is a good idea to bring warm clothes
In July there is a minimum rental period of 2 days, otherwise 1 day rental period. Welcome to this year's overnight stay that will be remembered for a long time. A night or more under the starry sky.
