My cozy weekend at the tiny house by Bakkebølle

My partner and I took a well-deserved break from exam stress at the cozy tiny house in Bakkebølle, with a hot tub and a view of the Ørnehøj dolmen.

We headed to the tiny house in Bakkebølle with my wonderful partner for a little weekend getaway, hoping to slow all the way down after a busy stretch of exams and everyday life's sometimes far-too-fast pace.

The tiny house, the nature and the silence were meant to set the scene for presence, coziness and time just for us. A little hideaway from everyday life, at one with nature 🌱

Where we stayed

Our cozy stay at the tiny house

The trip to Bakkebølle felt almost like the start of unwinding already on the way there. When we arrived at the tiny house, our first impression was the calm and idyllic mood, surrounded by nature and silence.

What made the place truly special was the beautiful view of the Ørnehøj dolmen, which gave the place an almost fairy-tale atmosphere. The tiny house had a warm, cozy interior, and was at the same time incredibly well thought out, with sweet little details like a pizza oven, hammocks and a hot tub that made it easy to simply enjoy the calm and each other's company.

It quickly felt like a little hideaway from the busyness of everyday life 🤲🏽

What made the stay truly special was how well thought out the whole place felt. Nature was really allowed to thrive, with trees winding through the garden, the silence around us, and the beautiful view of the Ørnehøj dolmen.

The hot tub with a view over the landscape was without doubt one of the highlights, especially in the evening. At the same time, small details like hammocks and a pizza oven made the experience extra cozy and gave the place a very special charm.

Activities and experiences around Bakkebølle

Take a trip to the nearby beach and take a dip in the blue, or simply enjoy the beautiful view across the sea with sight of both the Farø Bridge and the old Storstrøm Bridge.

Enjoy a home-cooked dinner on the terrace as the sun sets over the meadow, and light the bonfire for marshmallows and coziness under the open sky.

Go exploring in nature, where you're often lucky enough to spot roe deer among the trees and in the fields, and relax in the hot tub with a view of the Ørnehøj dolmen, especially beautiful in the evening.

Also take a trip to Vordingborg, close to Bakkebølle, and discover the charming streets, the small shops, as well as the Goose Tower and the old medieval ruins.

Tips from Nanna

Three things I'd tell a friend

No oven, but a great air fryer
No oven, but a great air fryer
The house is incredibly well thought out, with pretty much everything you could need for cooking, towels and small essentials. The one thing to remember: there's no regular oven, but instead an air fryer that works great.
Pack swimwear for the beach
Pack swimwear for the beach
Bring swimwear and an extra towel — it's an obvious choice to spend a beach day in the area close to the tiny house.
Cozy clothes that can smell like bonfire
Cozy clothes that can smell like bonfire
Pack something cozy and comfortable to wear, ideally an outfit you don't mind smelling a little of bonfire smoke if you light one up in the evening.

The tiny house was incredibly well thought out and full of charm. Every detail had been considered, from the hot tub, pizza oven and fire pit to the hammocks and beautiful surroundings. The location in nature close to the beach created a very special calm. Everything felt welcoming and well thought out, and the hosts were kind, informative and quick to respond. A warm recommendation from us!
