Karlsvogn – cozy nature retreat in Mid-Jutland forest

Step into the Karlsvogn and let everyday life slip away. This well-insulated wagon cabin of 20 sqm is your private base in the heart of the Mid-Jutland nature, surrounded by forest, silence, and the open starry sky.

The wagon is furnished with two single beds, a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove and refrigerator, as well as a private bathroom with a shower and toilet. Outside awaits your private terrace, perfect for morning coffee in the woods or evening wine under the open sky.

Horsbjerg Natur is run by Elsebeth and Bjarne, who, with decades of experience as tourist hosts and outdoor enthusiasts, ensure that you feel welcome from the very start. Sustainability is not a buzzword here. The cabins are built from eco-friendly materials, all electricity comes from wind turbines and solar panels, and wastewater is biologically treated on-site.

Every morning, Elsebeth's homemade breakfast buffet is set up with organic ingredients, and you can choose whether to enjoy it in the common room or take it back to the wagon.

Right outside the door, marked hiking trails start to Rørbæk Sø, Tinnet Krat, Hærvejen, and Gudenåen. Cyclists can head out along Hærvejen, Bindeballestien, and Bryrupbanestien. There is no TV and only sparse mobile coverage here, and that is intentional.
