Here you can fish, row in a boat/canoe, enjoy a hot tub and sauna that can be ordered if desired. You can also use the grill hut if the weather isn't nice, or if you want to find shade in the summer.
The cabin is 18 square meters and is located on a platform up among 3 tall pines on a tiny idyllic island in a forest lake. The stairs from the forest floor lead up to a beautiful veranda among the treetops and further into the actual Island Cabin. The cabin has a high degree of comfort and is practically furnished.
In the living room, there is a table, bench, chairs, and a sofa corner that can be converted into a double bed. The kitchen has a 90 cm Gaggenau gas stove with 5 gas burners, a refrigerator powered by solar energy, and a 12v pump that provides water at the tap. There are cups and dishes so that it is possible to prepare a fine meal. We provide drinking water in plastic cans, while rainwater or water from Bervannet is used for washing.
A small staircase leads up to the loft where there are 3 sleeping places, each with its own little window. The hammock can also be used as a sleeping place or for an afternoon nap. In total, the Island Cabin has 5 sleeping places + hammock. It also has installed 12v electricity with lights in the outdoor toilet, wood shed, laundry room, and kitchen. The flames from the fireplace also provide a cozy flickering light when you crawl into bed, for here you must burn wood to keep warm in the cold season.
In the same way as in the old days, we have an outdoor toilet and wood shed down on the forest floor close to the cabin. Even while you sit on the toilet, you have a view over Bervannet, and in the wood shed, there are some planks and small nails so that you can build a birdhouse and take it home.
The veranda outside the Island Cabin is a favorite gathering place with a great view over Bervannet and the surrounding forests. If you sit still, you may be lucky enough to observe some of the rich wildlife. In Bervannet, there is a family of beavers, and it also happens that moose, deer, and roe deer appear. On several occasions, cranes have been observed. Ducks, geese, and swans are a common sight. On the veranda, we feed small birds year-round, and especially in winter, there is a bustling life at the bird feeder.
Down on the ground on the "land side" there is a fire pit with tables and benches, ideal for cozy campfires and grilling. There is also a hot tub and a sauna that can be rented for an additional fee. If you are interested in fishing, it is allowed to try for brook trout and salmon that are found in Bervannet. NB. Bed linen, cleaning, hot tub, and sauna are booked directly through wildcabins.
