Handeland Lodge I Arctic Dome

The dome is strategically located just 800 meters from the National Tourist Route (FV 520) and roughly halfway between Sauda and Røldal. This advantageous location makes the dome the ideal starting point for exploring the beautiful landscape along the national tourist route.

Facilities
We offer the perfect combination of comfort and adventure in beautiful natural surroundings. Our 23 sqm dome is designed for 2-3 guests, featuring a comfortable, made-up double bed. From the seating area in front of the window, you can enjoy the stunning view right outside the door.

The dome is equipped with an integrated toilet module, fireplace, and a private storage/kitchen area. The kitchen is equipped with the necessary facilities for easy cooking, including two gas burners and cooking utensils (frying pans, pots, etc.). All necessary crockery is also available. A fire pit with a grill grate is also available for our guests.

Activities
The dome is located at the foot of some of Rogaland's finest mountain hikes and is an ideal starting point for exploring majestic peaks like Skaulen, which stands 1554 meters above sea level. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere around the fire pit afterwards. In the summer, there are several natural swimming spots just a stone's throw from the dome, perfect for families.

Explore fishing opportunities for mountain trout or take advantage of our bouldering facilities with a personal instructor. Winter offers spectacular opportunities for cross-country skiing and summit hikes. Guide available on request.
