"Forbord Dome" is an exclusive glamping experience for two people in the heart of nature. You can sleep under the stars, enjoy the panoramic view over Trondheimsfjord, catch a magical sunset, or see the fantastic northern lights if you're lucky. The dome is a spacious 23 square meters with a window in the roof and at the front, and it is located on a two-level terrace with a seating area and fire pit.
There are many great hiking opportunities in the area, how about a hike to the top of "Forbordsfjellet"?
The dome is about 10 minutes from Trondheim Airport Værnes in Stjørdal and about 40 minutes from Trondheim. From the parking lot, you need to walk a partly steep forest road up to the dome.
The dome is situated by itself on the slope towards "Forbordsfjellet", about 300 meters above sea level. There are two parking options, and the distance from parking to the dome is from 450 meters depending on parking/route. You walk on a partly steep forest road from the parking area to reach the dome. It is 150 meters of elevation gain to walk from the farm to the dome, but only 75 meters from the nearest parking (toll road).
Inside the dome, there is a made-up king-size double bed and a seating area for two people.
It is well heated in the dome (wood stove/diesel heater), but we recommend bringing warm clothes on cold days.
You do not need to leave the dome to go to the toilet, it has its own room with a toilet.
You are welcome to bring a dog or other pets, but due to allergies, we prefer they stay outdoors. If they are to be inside the dome, we charge an additional cleaning fee. We have a lovely doghouse right outside the dome.
There are 10 liters of drinking water in the dome upon arrival, otherwise, there is limited access to clean drinking water. You also have access to a camping stove and two pots for simple cooking. Remember that the use of the camping stove must occur outdoors. There is also a grill grate for the fire pit that can be used for grilling. Free access to tea and coffee.
It goes steeply down in front of the dome, so we ask that you do not cross the ropes set up as barriers.
Phones can be charged at a dedicated USB outlet. Charging cable without a plug must be brought.
