Wake up to breathtaking views of Lake Tyin and Jotunheimen!
Perched high above Lake Tyin, surrounded by mountains and wide-open landscapes, you'll find Tyintoppen – a cosy little mountain guesthouse for two.
Once a traditional sauna, the building has been transformed into a charming and comfortable retreat. It's the perfect place to escape everyday life, slow down and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Norwegian highlands.
The guesthouse consists of one open room with a comfortable double bed, a small kitchenette and a cosy seating area. Step outside onto your private terrace and enjoy panoramic views of Lake Tyin and the surrounding mountains – whether you're sipping your morning coffee or watching the evening light settle over the landscape.
Inside the guesthouse
Comfortable double bed, made up before arrival
Bed linen and towels included
Kitchenette with a double hot plate, mini fridge, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine
Basic kitchen equipment for preparing simple meals
Private toilet and running water
Electricity and WiFi (connection may occasionally be unstable)
Private terrace with spectacular mountain and lake views
Please note: There is no shower in the guesthouse. However, you are welcome to use the showers at Tyinstølen Turisthytte free of charge during your stay, approximately 4 km away by car. Shower passes and towels are provided for this purpose.
Explore the mountains
Tyintoppen is a wonderful base for exploring the mountains around Lake Tyin and Jotunheimen. Whether you prefer short walks, longer hikes or simply relaxing with a beautiful view, nature is right outside your door.
In summer, you can drive all the way to the guesthouse. During winter, the road is closed, and the final stretch takes approximately 15–20 minutes on foot, skis or snowshoes.
Winter lasts a long time in the mountains, and snow can remain from October until June. We recommend checking the weather conditions before arrival and bringing suitable clothing and footwear.
A peaceful mountain escape
The guesthouse is located on the same property as our private mountain cabin. You have exclusive use of the guesthouse and its terrace, but our cabin is nearby, and we may occasionally be staying there with our two friendly Border Collies.
For those looking for an extra touch of relaxation, our wood-fired sauna at Tyinstølen Turisthytte can be booked separately for an additional fee.
Whether you're here for mountain adventures, peaceful mornings with coffee on the terrace or simply a few days away from the everyday rush, Tyintoppen offers a special place to unwind.
Sometimes the best part of a mountain getaway is doing absolutely nothing – just enjoying the view.
