Camping spot description
Nearly Wild Camping! Get back to nature and pitch your tent in our peaceful Devon meadow, with just a handful of grass pitches & our shepherds huts there's plenty of space to relax in. Pitches are mown into our meadow, sometimes we let the surrounding grass grow long to encourage wildlife. Each pitch has it's own fire pit, logs are available for a small charge or you are welcome to bring your own. As we are an off grid site we have compost toilets, there is a rustic shower cubicle with hot water, a recent guest said it was the best campsite shower she had used! There is an outdoor washing up area with views into the neighbouring woodland for bird spotting whilst pot washing! Recycling facilities are provided but please try to take your waste away with you if you can. There's lots of wildlife to spot during your stay so don't forget your binoculars! Owls & birds of prey often swoop down over the meadow, you might hear woodpeckers & if you are lucky the deer may pay a visit. Our meadow is great for stargazing too, or just sitting out looking for shooting stars. Our guests have told us our meadow is a very special place!

Description of my place and location
Our small Devon campsite is perfectly located between Dartmoor & the sea, not far from Totnes. With two cosy shepherds huts & just three almost wild camping pitches it's an ideal place to get away from it all & explore the Devon countryside. Stay in of our our handcrafted Shepherds Huts or pitch your tent or small campervan in our peaceful meadow and enjoy evenings under the stars around the fire pit! We are a Greener Camping Club site offering eco friendly off grid holidays and short breaks in south Devon.

Secret tip
Our site is very peaceful but there is also plenty to do not far away. We are ideally located between Dartmoor and the sea, both being less than half an hour away, Ashburton, Buckfastleigh and Totnes are also around 20 minutes away. There is so much to see and do in our local area with great walking and cycling routes, two heritage steam railways, lovely beaches, the fantastic moors and tors of Dartmoor, the River Dart plus historic castles and beautiful gardens all nearby. If you want to travel a little further Dartmouth, Salcombe, Tavistock and the Cathedral City of Exeter are all well worth a visit. There are also lots of attractions for families including River Dart Country Park, Paignton Zoo, Woodlands, Crealy Adventure Park, Kents Caverns plus lots more. If you are after something a bit different how about Dartmoor Prison Museum or Finch Foundry, very interesting - well I think so!
