Wardley Hill Campsite

Bungay, The United Kingdom and Northern Ireland

About your property and listing

Description of my place
Wardley Hill Campsite is an ecological campsite in the green Waveney Valley on the edge of the Norfolk Broads. Established in 2014, the Bungay campsite is family-run and off-grid with six beautiful acres of wild flowers, grassy flood plains and woodlands – an absolute haven for campers. Come here for spacious pitches, natural surroundings, open-fire cooking, and gazing at an open sky. In other words, Wardley Hill Campsite is where you come for a peaceful and relaxing stay in nature.

Tree tents at Wardley Hill Campsite
Here’s a unique way to connect to nature – spend the night in the woods of Waveney Valley lifted in a Tentsile tree tent. Instead of being pitched on the ground, these portable tree houses are suspended between three trees to form a flat and extremely comfortable platform. Tentsile tree tents are four-season.

The Wardley Hill Campsite has two tree tent sizes for rent. The Tentsile Connect fits two people and has a removable fly sheet for all weather conditions. The Tentsile Safari Stingray is a three-person tent and offers plenty of space for your family. Note that the tents are offered empty, so bring camping equipment when staying in a tree tent. (Like a sleeping bag and a sleeping pad for extra insulation in winter).

Facilities at the Bungay campsite
Wardley Hill offers campers an authentic stay in nature. Of course, there are the necessary facilities available at the Bungay campsite – but you won’t find hot tubs or electric hookups here. Instead, the facilities are off-grid and respect nature. These include three composting toilets that are well-maintained, a urinal, and two outdoor showers with hot water. Drinking water is also provided around the campsite. Fire drums are set about the campsite for campfires and open-fire cooking, and leashed dogs are welcome at the site. They’re allowed to run free on the recreation field.

Around Wardley Hill
At Wardley Hill Campsite, nature is all around you. The six acres of the Bungay campsite are left for wild grasses and flowers to grow and include woodland, a stream and three seasonal ponds. No vehicles are allowed on the campsite with the exception of the field for 4x4 expedition vehicles.
