Ertehaugen - smallholding idyll by Lake Store Erte

Ertehaugen is located at Hafsrød, which is one of Østfold's largest forest properties. Hafsrød operates nature-based tourism and is Green Key certified. We offer rental of cabins that were previously used as forest worker housing, providing slow experiences in green surroundings. The property is currently run by the fifth generation, Ingeborg and Andreas, who live at the Hafsrød farm about 2.5 kilometers from the cabin.

Ertehaugen is a former smallholding located right by the water's edge of Lake Store Erte. Near the cabin, you will find both the nature reserve Fuglen and Ømyr, as well as hiking destinations like Nansen Hotel. This is part of what is called Ankerfjella, a very scenic area with few people, little light pollution, and beautiful silence.

The cabin was completely renovated in 2023 and has both running water and electricity. Here you also get 3 canoes and life jackets included in the rental, as well as firewood and electricity.
