Vinterveien is located at Hafsrød, which is one of Østfold's largest forest properties. Hafsrød is engaged in nature-based tourism and is Green Key certified. We offer rental of cabins that were previously forest workers' homes, providing slow experiences in green surroundings. The property is currently run by the fifth generation, Ingeborg and Andreas, who live on the Hafsrød farm a few kilometers from the cabin.
Vinterveien is a former forest cabin located right by the water's edge of Lake Store Erte. Near the cabin, you will find both the nature reserve Fuglen and Ømyr, as well as hiking destinations like Nansen Hotel. This is part of what is called Ankerfjella, which is a very scenic area with few people, little light pollution, and beautiful silence.
The forest cabin is completely secluded within a gated road, with access right up to it. Vinterveien consists of a main cabin and a stable, and does not have running water or electricity, but has solar panels for lighting inside the main cabin. Both firewood and the use of two canoes, as well as life jackets, are included in the rental.
