Garbolund is owned and operated by Rigmor and Bertel Baagøe and Jette Haugaard. Garbolund is an experience universe with: WINE BAR - WINERY - WINE CELLAR - SHOP - BUTTERFLY TRAIL - UNIQUE ACCOMMODATION - EVENTS - and much more. EXPERIENCE GARBOLUND VINEYARD Garbolund produces pure, natural wines without additives, filtration or other manipulation. This can be tasted and felt when you drink them. At Garbolund you can enjoy our natural wines in a relaxed atmosphere, in the historical and idyllic surroundings, where you can feel like you are in another time or a slightly different world. Many call the place a small time warp with a southern atmosphere. We also create a setting for special experiences at the winery. A popular gathering place is our wine bar and outdoor seating area under the sails on the old Mødding, where you can sit in the sun and enjoy a snack or a piece of homemade cake. We serve small dishes with our wines, and also offer locally produced ice cream and beer, coffee, tea or soda. All raw materials are primarily organic and locally produced. There are often nice events with music or hikes during the summer. The program can be seen on the website and on SoMe. We also offer parties in the old Yellow Barn and it may happen that live music, communal dining with lots of life and happy people are arranged when you book an overnight stay with us. ACCOMMODATION AT GARBOLUND Garbolund offers accommodation and retreats for anyone who wants to extend their stay on the farm, or needs a stop on the way on their hike or trip. We offer B&B in 3 indoor rooms on the farm, including the Pilgrims' Room, which is set up in the old barn, and the Wine Cellar, which was a foaling room, for the farm's horses. We have set up simply furnished and cozy Glamping tents if you want a tent with a little more luxury. In our accommodation there is the possibility of extra beds for guests. You can also stay overnight in your own tent in the vineyards and cook over a campfire. Facilities such as toilets and bathrooms are shared between all guests staying at the farm. THE WINE & WINERY The winery is the heart of the farm, and here we often give presentations and talk about wine production; How and why we make natural wine, we also give occasional presentations about entrepreneurship or sustainable farming, etc. The organic grapes are harvested by hand, and for this we have a large group of local volunteers, guests, friends and acquaintances, who every year every weekend in October help us to remember the harvest. It is an important and very wonderful time. Everyone can help and you can sign up for the harvest via the website. You only harvest for about 3 hours, then you eat and enjoy yourself on the farm with food and wine. The grapes are sorted very carefully both during and after harvest, and gently pressed in our own winery on the farm in Annisse. The natural wild yeast cells on the grapes, together with the temperature in the winery, create the basis for the spontaneous fermentation. After harvest and fermentation, all the wines rest in the winery over the winter. For some of the wines, several years. It depends on what the individual wine needs and potential for. We do not filter the wines, but instead carefully rack them several times during the winter to remove yeast and pollen residues and other impurities. The wines are not added sugar, sulfite, fining agents or other additives. It is the wild yeast, the sun, the wind, the weather and the soil and the microflora of the fields that give each batch its own character and taste. NATURE AROUND GARBOLUND The butterfly trail, the beautiful nature in the area and the vineyards surround the entire Garbolund, and you cannot help but be captivated by the area and nature. The butterfly path meanders along the fields and is planted exclusively with native Danish wildflowers. We have created the butterfly path to benefit and be a habitat and birthplace for butterflies, insects and small birds, thereby creating greater biodiversity locally and in agriculture. But it is also made to please people and provide great nature experiences. At Garbolund we do our best to protect nature in interaction with agriculture. We cultivate our vineyards and land organically and as gently as possible to support local biodiversity and avoid burdening the climate and ecosystems as much as possible. For the same reason, we have established two small lakes for the benefit of birds and frogs, etc. The cows graze peacefully on the meadow around the lakes between the vineyards, making the idyll complete. You are welcome to sit down and enjoy nature whenever you feel like it. From the top of the vineyard, from the very highest point, “Baunen”, you can see far out over the landscape and Arresø. You can follow the path all the way around our vineyards, the walk is about 1.2 km.
