Camping spot description
Livø is located in the Limfjord approx. 6 miles southwest of Logstor. To get here you have to sail with the ferry for 20 minutes from Rønbjerg Harbor. The island has a fantastically beautiful and varied nature with a rich wildlife of the good 3 square kilometers. At the head of the protected and inaccessible Livø Tap, seals live, while deer and fallow deer graze in flocks in the forests and in the fields. Livø has elements of most Danish habitat types with heath, fields, pastures, salt marshes, forests and steep slopes along the coasts on the west side of the island. Part of the forest is an original light-open oak-hazel-mixed forest, where dead wood is allowed to lie. The beautiful old institution buildings are the core of Livø Holiday Center's operations. There is room for approx. 270 overnight stays, and in addition we have a tent site and a marina. Here is also a café with a kiosk, which usually has a large selection of drinks and a very limited selection of other items, and an assembly hall. Grøn Livø is a project under the Danish Nature Agency. It is an attempt to become independent of fossil fuels and, in general, to make the island sustainable. At the tent site there are attached: Good toilet and bathing facilities Small cooking room Campfire sites, with the possibility of primitive cooking. Good shelter conditions Nice lake. The tent site is located in the immediate vicinity of the settlement. In 2009, a nice new toilet building was built with bathing facilities. Please note energy tax of DKK 20 / day
