Accommodation description
"The little wilderness camp": Own islet in the heart of idyllic Trobbevann. There is a toilet, a simple gap hook and a fire pan on the islet. Accommodation is in quality hammocks from Hennessy Hammock. Bring your own sleeping bag!

"The little wilderness camp" is for those of you who want to try spending the night outside in a hammock! If you haven't tried it before, you might think it seems strenuous and overwhelming with all the equipment you have to take with you. Here we have arranged most things for you; all you need to bring is a sleeping bag and food. Here you can enjoy the joy of outdoor life without purchasing expensive equipment. Everything is ready for cozy gatherings around the campfire or inside the gapahuk. At the camp there is a small zipline. ring games and darts.

Everything tastes better in the woods and fields, they say, and that's why we've prepared a fire pit with a coffee kettle, grill grate and frying pan so you can prepare simple but tasty meals.

When the evening comes, the "bed" is made up: quality hammocks from Hennessy Hammock, with mosquito nets and a roof/tarp for the most comfortable night's sleep possible. The hammocks can be easily attached to ready-made straps.

Here you can experience something different, or as Arne Næss put it: "A non-everyday experience that creates deep traces in the memory".

A warm welcome to the wilderness!

    About the property

    Property description
The couple Berit Knutsen Thorsland and Geir Thorsland live on an old farm in an almost untouched forest area on Nodeland, just over a mile from Kristiansand.

In the forest that belongs to the farm, close to beautiful Trobbevann, the couple has built Kristiansand's first treetop cabin.

    Our story
The nature is so quiet and untouched, even though it is not really far from the city. We want to preserve the good calm and what the forest naturally offers, therefore we have planned only two cabins, says Berit.

The first treetop cabin will be completed by the turn of the year 2021/22, ready to receive guests who want an experience out of the ordinary.

Here you sleep well in comfortable beds, high above the ground and deep in the heath, but still no more than an 800 meter walk in slightly hilly forest terrain. Or in summer; a shorter canoe trip away.

We have tested it out among friends, and most people find that the trip in is suitably long. It is not too far, but still far enough that you can lower your shoulders and feel that you are on a trip.

    A dream came true
It was not a matter of course that the couple should run wooden huts when they bought the farm to live here and work with forestry. But Berit has always had a fascination for treetop cabins and also has a background in tourism, and thinks it was a pity that not more people would get to experience the hidden gem.

We have had friends on trips and sat by the water's edge and grilled and enjoyed ourselves, and the idea of treetop cabins matured as they showed their enthusiasm.

One and a half years ago, Berit started with the first sketches, and now the first cabin is ready. The dream is for guests to have a unique experience that creates memories beyond the ordinary.

You hear almost no traffic or other noise here, and when darkness falls it is the only light from the moon. There is no light pollution here! This is how it will continue to be. It is about adapting to nature, not the other way around.
