The Wigwam: A nomadic Native American night; Dreams under the Milky Way... The wigwam is a type of dwelling built by the semi-nomadic Native Americans of North America, including the Micmacs and the Algonquins. This circular house consists of a frame of poles on which is fixed the covering of birch bark, or mats of cattails or rushes. The bark pieces are sewn together using spruce or fir roots. In winter, it is covered with animal skins. A fire is constantly maintained in the center, the smoke escapes through a chimney hole. More contemporary and made by Jean LEHMANN, the “Vosgien” wigwam is dressed in natural cotton canvas and has a large transparent window offering a wide view of the sky. Placed at the entrance to the park, the wigwam is equipped for wheelchair access. Info : - Equipment: Electricity.
