High skies, peace and quiet, beautiful nature, and many animals. This is some of what you can experience as a guest here at the farm Thorupgaard. The cozy cabin is located right by the meadow where our Dexter cattle graze, along with the three ponies Malthe, Alberte, and Kamala Harris.
The cabin is comfortably furnished with a lovely bed made up with duvets, pillows, and bed linen.
A small cozy corner with armchairs, a small table, and a lamp, where you can enjoy a game of cards or a board game. Or a nice cup of coffee.
A wardrobe with bathrobes, flip-flops, towels, and blankets for a cool summer evening on the terrace.
A small kitchen with a refrigerator, hot plate, kettle, French press, pots, pan, dishes, dishcloths, and tea towels.
There is heating and electricity in the cabin.
Possibility for 1 extra bed on a guest bed.

Adjacent to the cabin is a covered terrace with a grill, a table with two chairs, and a sunshade to the west and south. A perfect place to sit and enjoy the morning sun.

Next to the cabin is a large terrace with a hot tub and 2 sun loungers with a table.
The hot tub features bubble massage and lights. Relax in the warm water while receiving a massage from the bubbles, and feel free to enjoy a glass of cool rosé or a beer. It’s not too shabby, as we say here in Vendsyssel.
The hot tub is heated with firewood. Bring your own firewood or buy it from us, and light it yourself. We are always happy to assist with the lighting.
We are also happy to heat the hot tub so that it is ready for you to jump into when you arrive. Price 900 kr including firewood.
As a start, or perhaps an end, to a lovely day, it’s a great idea to light a small fire at the fire pit next to the cabin. Maybe make popcorn, bake pancakes, or make stick bread over the fire? And end the day by enjoying the last embers of the fire while the sun sets in the west.

And if you’ve brought your hiking shoes, we recommend a walk on the Stenum trail, a 5 km long experience route that goes down into our beautiful meadow. A map of the trail is located in the cabin.

Common facilities include a toilet trailer with a shower, a playground, a large sandbox, and the stable with mini pigs, rabbits, chickens, and ducks.

The price includes breakfast, final cleaning, bed linen, towels, bathrobes, and flip-flops.

In 2023, we have set up a combined farm shop and grill café in the old pig stable.
The shop/café is cozily furnished with furniture, utensils, and decorative items from a bygone era.
In the freezer in the farm shop, you will find delicious, tender beef from our own Dexter cattle. Our cattle graze in the fields and meadows all year round. The calves always stay with their mothers and receive maternal milk for as long as they want. This natural life produces healthy, strong animals that are very rarely sick, and therefore do not receive medication. And we certainly do not spray our fields. You can taste it in the meat, which is tender and tastes fantastic. We have various cuts: steaks for grilling or frying, short ribs, ground beef, etc. However, we reserve the right that certain cuts may be sold out.
There are beer, water, and wine in the cooler.
Additionally, we also have mead, jams, honey, snacks, and handicrafts from local artists.
In the grill café, we have burgers, all made from ground meat from our own cattle, grilled chicken, fries, sausage mix, and kebab mix on the menu.
And homemade kringle cake and coffee/tea.
During the children's summer vacation, we also offer homemade “Grandma's food,” which must be ordered by 10 AM the same day. Ask the staff what’s on the menu.
You can also order a picnic basket: Sandwich, cake, fruit, a small bottle of wine, water, as well as glasses, cutlery, and plates.
It is also possible to order food to prepare yourself: “Bake-your-own mini pizzas and Farm Ice,” pancake batter with toppings, stick bread dough with ketchup, mustard, and remoulade, or popcorn to make over the fire.
