Welcome to Sauva – the very definition of a hidden gem in the forest at Ettestad in Drangedal.
Here, there is no electricity, water, or fuss – but in return, silence, birdsong, and genuine contact with nature. The cabin is newly renovated, stylishly decorated, and surrounded by forest and water. Large windows let nature in completely, creating a cozy atmosphere that invites calm and presence.
Start your day with yoga on the terrace or down at the dock – mats are ready under the bed. Or sit in the canoe for a quiet morning trip on the water. The area also offers great cycling opportunities, mountain hikes, and cozy forest trails right outside the door. When you want to explore more, both Gautefallheia and Kragerø are a short drive away, with everything from mountains to coastal idyll.
The cabin has a large double bed and an extra bed, and is best suited for two adults and two children. It is equipped with a gas stove, gas refrigerator, simple water solution, and solar lighting inside and out. At the dock, you will find a canoe and a dinghy (life jackets and paddles are included). Parking is right by the cabin.
This is the place for you if you want to unwind, relax, and experience nature at its most beautiful – a unique combination of simplicity, comfort, and magical surroundings.
Extra information:
You will receive drinking water from us, and we will provide three large containers of drinking water before your arrival.
Gas refrigerator (with small freezer) and gas stove
We recommend bringing a power bank and a small headlamp
Firewood is also available for the stove and outdoor fire pit.

Hello, and welcome 🌿 I am Linn, and together with my family, I live in Drangedal, close to the cabin you are currently looking at. We are an active family who loves to be active, but at the same time, we appreciate the calm and relaxing days as well. We love nature and life here with our animals – and have wanted to create a place where others can also find peace and recharge. Everything is set up here to unwind, slow down, and be present. The cabin is surrounded by silence and beautiful surroundings, providing a setting for a stay that is both simple and a little extra at the same time.
