Ember is a private off-grid dome by the coast outside Bodø, with panoramic views of the sea and mountains. Here you have the entire area to yourselves, surrounded by northern Norwegian nature. In the summer, you can experience the midnight sun, and on clear winter evenings, the northern lights may appear.
The location is sheltered and private, yet only 15 minutes from Saltstraumen and 25 minutes from Bodø city center. Ember is particularly suitable for those who seek peace, privacy, and proximity to nature, with easy access to fishing, hiking, and other outdoor experiences.
Ember is a place to slow down, be present, and let the day unfold a little more on its own – simple, comfortable, and close to nature.
Ember consists of a dome, a separate annex, and a private outdoor area with a terrace, grill, and wood-fired hot tub. The entire area is reserved for you during your stay.
In the dome, you will find a double bed, seating area, and wood stove. The large windows open up to the landscape and provide views of the sea, mountains, and surrounding nature.
The annex is located right next to the dome and contains a kitchen, living room, and bathroom. The kitchen is simple but has most of what you need for cooking, including a gas stove with two burners, refrigerator, French press, and basic kitchen utensils. The bathroom has hot and cold water, shower, sink, and composting toilet.
Ember can accommodate up to four guests, with a double bed in the dome and a sofa bed in the annex. The place is most spacious for two but also works for families or smaller groups who want to stay close together.
The wood-fired hot tub is filled before arrival but is heated by the guests. Typically, it takes about two hours, and a bit longer in cold weather.
Ember is off-grid and has its own solutions for water, heating, lighting, and charging. The water system holds 100 liters and provides hot and cold water for short showers, handwashing, and dishwashing. The capacity is more limited than in a regular home, so water must be used thoughtfully.
There is no Wi-Fi or regular power outlets. Mobile phones and other small electronics can be charged with an included power bank. The simple, thoughtful solutions are part of the experience and make it possible to stay comfortably and close to nature.
The parking area is about 400 meters from Ember. The last part is walked on foot along a tractor road, and you can borrow a cart for your luggage. The ground may be wet, slippery, or covered in snow, depending on the weather and season, so appropriate footwear is recommended.
Both two-legged and four-legged guests are welcome. For the sake of the dome and textiles, pets can stay outside and in the annex, but not inside the dome.
