Villmarks Tårnet - TreeTop Fiddan is a real treetop cabin built in the treetops along a moose trail on the banks of Svartevann.

At the end of the marsh is Fiskekroken, a tiny forest pond with perch that you can try fishing for dinner.
The location, far from both people and roads, describes the name of the cabin and the building style very well - this is truly in the middle of the southern wilderness. Here you are guaranteed peace and quiet for soul and mind!!

The cabin itself, around 20 m2, is built at the top of the treetops at Villmarks Tårnet, and together with the loft, makes up the top 2 floors. From here there is a great view of both lakes. The beds are handmade from birch logs with comfortable mattresses. A triple bunk bed, a double bed and a short single bed - a total of 6 beds. If desired, one person can also sleep in the hammock or on the small sofa, so the total capacity is 7 guests.

The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare a man's meal. The stove and refrigerator are gas-powered, and there is a great wood stove with a hotplate and oven that gives extra flavor to the food. The dining table has 6 chairs, and from the sofa corner you have a panoramic view of Svartevannet.

The emphasis has been on creating a real "back to nature" experience. The Wilderness Tower is clad in birch paneling and lit with candles. The flames from above provide a cozy flickering light before you crawl into bed, because here you have to burn wood to keep warm in the cold season. The only technical device here is a battery pack with USB output for charging mobile phones and a couple of lamps.

Rainwater is collected in a tank on the loft, and this functions as washing water in the kitchen and in the sink. If there is no rain, water is pumped up from the stream. In frost, washing water from the stream must be carried up in jugs. Drinking water from the farm is delivered in plastic jugs.

The veranda is airy and nice with a good view. Here you will find tables and benches, and bird feeders where small birds and squirrels from the forest like to roost. Moose, deer and roe deer actually appear often. Especially if you stay quiet and get up early, there is a good chance of seeing wild animals. Cranes have been observed on several occasions. Ducks, geese and swans thrive in the shallow and nutritious Svartavannet lake. In spring, the oriole cocks dance, they can be heard a kilometer away.

Under the cabin is a woodshed with a carpenter's bench and a ladder up to a kind of barn, so there are 4 floors in total! There are hammers, saws, nails and pieces of planks for free use for those who want to make a birdhouse or perhaps a small boat to sail in the water with. From the barn you can jump out onto a net that is strung up between the trees. Fun for the kids to play on or as airy relaxation for the adults.

On the edge of the pier you will find a Villmarks SPA with a hot tub and sauna, both of which have spectacular views of Svartevannet. Both the hot tub and sauna are heated by wood burning. This will quickly become a favorite spot when it is a bit chilly to sit outside. The outdoor shower is nice to cool down in after a sauna bath.

On the forest floor is a campfire area with sturdy tables and benches. Campfires and grilling are popular and an important part of the nature experience. Bring good barbecue food or buy organic meat from Fiddan Øko Gård.

The outdoor toilet has a warming polystyrene seat with a panoramic view of Langemyra, so it is easy to dream away while you sit behind the door with your heart in it. The building is designed to make the toilet as odor-free as possible with a double composting chamber and straw walls.

From the parking lot you have 2 options to get to Villmarks-Tårnet.

1. Walk the path along Svartevann through the pine forest. Distance: 350 meters
2. Row or paddle across Svartevann with a canoe or rowboat. Distance 300 meters
Canoe and rowboat are free to use, and there is a pier at the cabin to tie up the boat.

Everything in and around Villmarks Tårnet is mainly built from materials from the forests of Fiddan, much of it is actually sourced less than a stone's throw from the cabin. Sustainability and local or recycled materials have been a common thread throughout the construction process.
