Hotel bed in the middle of nature close to Bergen

Welcome to Birdbox Bergen, located in a rural area in Bergen. Here, you are one with nature while enjoying comfort. You can enjoy the sunrise all year round from the bed. The sunset can be spectacular in winter, while in the long, bright summer evenings, you can enjoy a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere inside and outside the Birdbox. If you are really lucky, you might even experience the northern lights in winter.

Bergen Birdbox is situated on the pasture of Øvre Haukås Gård, where sheep roam all year round. In spring, you might be lucky enough to experience panoramic views of the lambing.

Location
Access to Birdbox Bergen is via a path from the yard. There is an incline on large parts of the journey up to the Birdbox, a walk that takes about 10 minutes (about 400 meters). The West Coast is known for a lot of rain, so we recommend waterproof shoes.

The Birdbox is furnished with a lovely made-up double bed, two comfortable chairs, and a small table. At the entrance at the end, there is a small kitchenette with a sink. Here you will find a kettle and a small refrigerator. There is no running water.

The toilet is in a separate box a couple of meters from the Birdbox. Here is a composting toilet with a simple solution for hand washing.

Outside the birdbox, there is a small terrace with two chairs that you can use.

Guest Access
The Birdbox and the associated box with the toilet are available for your use throughout the rental period. The area around the Birdbox and the surrounding wilderness is free for you to enjoy.

Other things worth noting
There is no grocery store in the immediate vicinity of the Birdbox. It may be wise to plan your purchases of food and drinks ahead of your stay. When you arrive at the Birdbox, you will find water in the refrigerator, as well as a container with water. In addition to a mini-fridge, you will find a kettle. We offer packed lunches, one with sushi, and one with cheese, crackers, and grapes. Contact us for more information.
