Spektakulær overnatting i skogen - The Forge

The Forge is an architect-designed bedroom cabin located in the rock, with large glass surfaces cut into the stone from floor to ceiling. The stone from the ice age once left on the farm is part of the room, and gives a rustic and very special atmosphere. The floor is in concrete with a pleasant heat, and from the large bed you can look out at the starry sky – and sometimes the northern lights. Outside, shielded by the forest, there is a bathtub where you can lie in hot water and listen to the silence around you. The Forge can be used all year round and provides a glamping experience with high comfort.

The name comes from an old forge that once stood here on the Lofnes farm. Traces of the blacksmithing are still visible, and old craftsmanship meets modern architecture in a natural way. From the Forge you go down a short staircase through the apple orchard to a private apartment. There, large glass surfaces give a view of the fjord and the mountains. In winter, you can sit by the stove and hear the wind outside. The bathroom is modern, the kitchen is well-equipped, and outside guests have their own space with a seating area and a fire pit – all with a view. Emphasis has been placed on well-executed details both indoors and outdoors.

Nature is close around the farm. Hornelen rises on the other side of the fjord, and is visible almost wherever you go. Hiking trails start nearby, and Hornelen's starting point is only a few minutes away by car. It is also a short drive to places such as Grotlesanden, Vetvika, Ålfotbreen landscape conservation area and Kalvåg. The area has a lot of cultural history, including the Vingen rock carving field, where guided tours take you back in time.

It is easy to get to Lofnes. The express boat from Bergen stops in the village, and we can drive you from the quay. For those arriving by car, there is free parking and access to electric car chargers.
