The Captain's House was originally built for the local sailor Einar Haugland. He sailed the seven seas in his youth, and while living here in this house, he worked as captain on the Skibladner – the world's oldest steam-powered paddle steamer still in regular service.
 
Today, the house has been renovated in a beautiful maritime style, while also being upgraded with all modern amenities. On the ground floor, there are two large living rooms: a sitting room with sofas and a TV, and a dining room with seating for about 10 people. A fully equipped kitchen is conveniently located right next to the dining room. Both the dining room and the sitting room have efficient wood-burning stoves, as well as an effective heat pump to maintain a steady temperature around the clock.
 
On the second floor, you’ll find 4 large bedrooms with a total of 9 comfortable beds. This floor also features a large bathroom with a shower, 2 washbasins, a washing machine, and a dryer. You have free access to wireless Internet throughout the house. Enjoy life in the countryside with a wonderful view over Mjøsa!
