Sleep under the starry sky - in the middle of the forest
In a lush forest in Dalsland, right by Lake Krokvattnet, awaits a glass house designed to give you complete contact with nature. The roof and the long side walls are made of glass. You can see the treetops, the night sky, and the morning light without leaving the bed.
The glass houses are designed by local architect Jeanna Berger with a simple idea: to give people the opportunity to live in nature without disturbing it. Research shows that 72 hours in a biologically rich forest can reduce stress levels by up to 70% and lower blood pressure and anxiety. Therefore, the glass houses are also called 72 hour cabins.
Interior and comfort
The interior is deliberately minimalist, featuring a comfortable double bed with warm wool bedding, two log chairs, and hooks for your clothes. Outside one end of the glass house, there are washing facilities and drinking water in a jug. A small terrace with a table and chairs invites you to enjoy morning coffee in the forest air. On warm nights, you can sleep with the doors open, a mosquito net ensures a good night's sleep.
Included in the stay
A generous forest breakfast served in a basket directly to your glass house. Organic and locally grown, with porridge, yogurt, eggs, berries from the garden, and homemade baked goods.
A snack basket upon arrival with coffee/tea and cake.
Tea and coffee available around the clock.
Free access to rowboat, canoe, and kayaks on Krokvattnet.
Grill area with all equipment and firewood.
Drinking water.
Bedding and towels.
Cleaning and dishwashing.
Nature and activities
On 40 hectares, there are walking paths, berry and mushroom picking, fishing, and swimming in the lake. The view from Mount Ebberudsknatten is breathtaking. Nearby, you will find Skärbo Nature Reserve, Dalsland Canal, canoe marathon, and much more.
All seasons are welcome, winter guests often take the opportunity for a cold bath!
Sustainability in everything we do
The forest is managed with biodiversity as a guiding principle. Half of it is old-growth forest with rare mosses, lichens, and insects. The food is locally grown, preferably from the own garden. The bedding is made of wool. Cleaning is done with eco-friendly cleaning products. Staying here should feel wise, just as our name suggests.
Pets are welcome in this glass house.

We are Heidi and Mats, and we live in the middle of our own 40-hectare forest in Dalsland. We bought the property to live close to nature and protect biodiversity, and we would like to share that experience with others. With us, it is the sounds of nature and the starry sky that frame the stay.
