Welcome to us, to Kustvy – where sea, forest, and countryside meet Hello, How wonderful that you have found your way here and are curious about Kustvy in Ängskär – a place where nature, the sea, and tranquility come together. We who run Kustvy are Katrin and Jimmy, and we live together with our children on a forest farm in Göksnåre, just a few kilometers from Ängskär. Here we live close to the forest, the sea, and wildlife, and we are passionate about making the place vibrant – both for our guests and for future generations. By visiting us, you contribute to our ability to continue developing our business and living and working here year-round. A place close to nature – but also close to everything Ängskär is located at the far end of Uppland's east coast, beautifully nestled in a nature reserve with untouched beaches, hiking trails, and fantastic nature. Despite the remote location, we are only 1.5 hours from Arlanda Airport, 1 hour from both Uppsala and Gävle, and 40 minutes from Öregrund. Here you get the feeling of truly getting away – without being far away. Kustvy started in January 2021 and is a small family business with a strong local connection. Katrin is a trained Business Developer in the tourism industry and Destination Developer in rural areas and has previously worked in the real estate and construction industry. She is now also part of the Hållnäs parish council, which aims to promote the development of a sustainable, inclusive, and vibrant Hållnäs. Jimmy has over 10 years of experience from the Coast Guard and has recently worked as a project manager and consultant in property automation. With our forest farm, we also have tasks related to the management and refinement of the forest. The farm has both a sawmill, planer, and carpentry, and our dream is to create our own products – from tree to finished product. It can be anything from a cutting board to a cabin or sauna, where we have been involved in the entire chain, using materials from our own forest. Making use of the resources around us and creating sustainably feels both meaningful and inspiring. Jimmy is also the supervisor for the nature reserve in Ängskär, which means he contributes to protecting and preserving the area, so that more people can experience the unique nature here – both now and in the future. Together, we combine our backgrounds and our commitment to sustainable rural development, local tourism, and personal nature experiences. A life close to the sea – and a business with heart We live on a farm that Jimmy's family built over 125 years ago. Here we today run small-scale forestry, have a beef production, cultivate the land, grow a little, and live a life close to nature and the seasons. We love being outdoors in nature with our children, friends, and family – and we want to share the tranquility that exists here. That you as a guest choose to come here means more than you might think. It enables us to continue living in this place, develop Kustvy, and let our children grow up with forest paths, sea breezes, and farm life as part of their everyday life.
