AaHuset

The small yellow house from 1943 is idyllically located right down to the Gudenå River and with 100 m of free private fishing rights for the house's guests. The area's most beautiful plot of land, completely undisturbed in the middle of nature and yet in the middle of the city.

"Aahuset", which was a weapons depot for the resistance movement during World War II, is now furnished with everything you need if you want a few days away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

From the entrance of the house you enter the living room which is furnished with a sofa bed, armchair, desk, and dining table with 4 chairs.

If you need to follow the news, we have installed a small TV with Chromecast.

In the small kitchen there is a stove, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, egg cooker, and all the dishes for 4 people.

The house also has a large outdoor gas grill.

On the 1st floor you will find two smaller rooms with exposed beams and a view of the Gudenå River. With mattresses for midday naps and a lovely workplace, it is possible to completely disconnect or perhaps immerse yourself in a writing project.

The house has a bathroom with toilet and shower.

In the annex "Brinken" there is room for two in good beds.

There is Internet in AaHuset.

The plot is 2 hectares with a small forest, its own stream and only 15 m to the Gudenåen River. The wild ducks often come right up to the terrace while swans, herons and cormorants can be seen across the river. If you are lucky, you may meet the kingfisher. In AaHuset you will find binoculars, nature books, various games.

There are also yoga mats and a gymnastic ball.

In the forest with 20 different types of trees, we have hung a swing from which you can follow life on the Gudenåen River. Maybe you will see the salmon jumping.

We have provided tea towels and dishcloths, bathrobes, bed linen, towels and final cleaning. You just need to pack your toothbrush and maybe a pair of slippers.

If you arrive by Gudenåen, you can dock right next to the house.

If you arrive by train, we can offer to drive you to the house.

If you are hiking or canoeing, it can be nice to have food ready in the house when you arrive. This can be arranged by agreement with the owner.

It is possible to order breakfast before arrival.

If you are brave enough to try your hand at Gudenåen, you can rent our kayak and paddleboard. This can be agreed with the owner before arrival. Here we recommend that you start the trip upstream towards the city center. Maybe enjoy an ice cream or a cup of coffee at "Isfuglen" and take the trip back with the current to AaHuset.

You can also choose to rent our bicycles and go on a trip around the local area.

In AaHuset you will find white and red wine, whiskey, gin, rum that are billed according to consumption.
