Introducing the Garden Room: A cozy retreat featuring a queen-size double bed, perfect for a restful night's sleep. This charming room exudes warmth and character, adorned with vintage furniture that perfectly complements the spirit of the house.
As you step into the Garden, you'll be greeted by a sense of nostalgia, with each piece of furniture telling its own story. The centerpiece of the room is a verdant green sofa, steeped in history as it was once a cherished wedding gift to a couple, who passed it down to their children. Now, it resides here, inviting guests to sink into its embrace and enjoy quiet moments with a book on botany.
The room is adorned with botanical accents, reflecting a love for nature and tranquility. A quaint hand basin adds convenience, while the vintage décor adds a touch of elegance to the space. Whether you're curling up with a good book or simply basking in the serene ambiance, the Garden Room offers a delightful retreat for guests seeking comfort and relaxation.

We kindly note, that we have four very friendly cats living on the grounds at The Woodland Lodge. They were found abandoned behind the old stable and have since made this place their home.
You’ll likely meet them around the house, in the garden, or quietly observing life from a sunny spot. They are gentle and used to people, and part of the slow rhythm here.
They are not allowed in the guest rooms, so we kindly ask that doors are kept closed.

Woodland Stable Tub
Stable Tub is our quiet little bathing spot in the old stable. A place to slow down, warm up, and look out over the glacial valley just beyond. If you’re lucky, a small herd of deer might pass through while you’re there. The tub is for one, but there’s a small terrace with two chairs, so you can take turns and share the experience. You’ll slip into the robes from your room, and we’ll leave you with something to drink and a snack. We use natural local soap from Honningperler, chosen carefully because it’s gentle on both you and the surroundings. The water is reused in the garden, as part of how we look after the resources around us. It’s a good, old-fashioned bathtub. No fuss, no features. Just time to unwind. You can comfortably enjoy it for up to an hour all year. We recommend bringing flip-flops. Stable Tub can be booked when we are at home, so just send a message at hello@thewoodlandlodge.dk a few days in advance to check for availability.
I’m Syska, your host at The Woodland Lodge Gisselfeld. I create stays where the house, the woodlands, and the quiet become the main characters during your stay. My role is to set the scene for you to slow down, reconnect, and experience the landscape in its own rhythm. I care about thoughtful details, honest hospitality, and spaces that feel both simple and carefully considered. Sometimes that means a warm welcome and local guidance, other times it means stepping back completely so you can have the place and the silence to yourself. Everything here is shaped by nature, history, and a deep respect for slow living. My job is to make it easy for you to arrive, unwind, and feel at home in something a little less ordinary.
