Welcome to Frøybu – a spacious and comfortable mountain cabin in Budal, about 1.5 hours from Trondheim. The cabin is peacefully located at the foot of Forollhogna National Park, surrounded by quiet mountain nature, open plains, and great hiking opportunities right outside the door.

Here you can slow down and enjoy true mountain tranquility – with modern comfort and plenty of space to be together.

After a day out in nature, you can sink into the warm jacuzzi on the terrace. The stars reflect in the clear mountain air, and the silence is complete.

Frøybu is perfect for families and groups of friends looking for a relaxing cabin experience – whether you want to hike long trails in the mountains, explore the cross-country ski tracks in the area, or just enjoy quiet days together in nature.

🧹 Cleaning is included, so you can relax from the very start.
Bedding, towels, electricity, and firewood for the fireplace are also included in the stay.

Ample space to be together

The cabin is 150 m² and has a spacious and open layout with a living room, kitchen, and dining area all in one large room. There is plenty of space for long meals, game nights, and pleasant conversations around the table.

Large windows let nature in and provide a great view of the surrounding mountain landscape.

The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking – whether you want to prepare a simple breakfast before a hike or a long dinner after a day outdoors.

Four bedrooms and space for up to 12 people

The cabin has four spacious bedrooms with good beds and comfortable down duvets. All beds are made with Egyptian cotton bedding upon your arrival.

The master bedroom has its own bathroom and direct access to the terrace and jacuzzi.

Large outdoor areas and terrace around the cabin

The terrace wraps around large parts of the cabin and has several seating areas, a fire pit, and a jacuzzi. Here you can enjoy long evenings outside – whether in the sun during summer or under the starry sky in winter.

There is always a cozy spot to sit, and the outdoor areas around the cabin provide ample space for play and relaxation.

Experiences year-round

Budal is known for its tranquil mountain landscape and low tourism. Here you can experience true mountain nature without crowds.

In winter, there are about 100 km of groomed cross-country ski trails in the Budal and Forollhogna area. The cabin is perfectly located for long ski trips in quiet and beautiful mountain terrain.

In summer, the area offers great hikes in Forollhogna National Park, fishing in rivers and mountain lakes, as well as good opportunities for berry and mushroom picking.
