This treehouse stands securely on a steel frame, on top of a plateau, with its "nose" facing into the elm and ash forest. The cabin is approximately 15 m2 and contains a kitchen area and a living room with a bed measuring 150 x 200 cm that provides good sleeping comfort. Drawers under the bed for storage. The kitchen has two hot plates, a refrigerator, and a kettle, as well as everything needed to prepare and eat meals. There is also a drop-leaf table and two folding chairs. The treehouse also has a toilet with a washbasin. A handheld shower makes it possible to shower in the 1.5 m2 large "bathroom". 
The treehouse is perfect for those who want to relax in the treetops, perhaps turn off their mobile phone and listen to the birds chirping and the waves lapping from the lounge chairs on the balcony. Here, total silence reigns, only interrupted in the evening by the tawny owls. Great close contact with birds and squirrels, and in the winter months, you also get a fjord view. It disappears a bit with the leaves on the trees in summer, but then the treetop feeling increases. Parking is 25 meters from the cabin. 

Room for two adults. If children are brought along, it is recommended to bring your own baby bed.

The place
Hardanger Fjordtun has two cabins and a house, located at Mælen outside Herand. The idyllic location is on the sunny side of the Hardangerfjord, at the end of a 3-kilometer side road. Here you have sun until late in the evening. In fact, it is more often sunny here than in other places. The proof lies in the warmth-loving old forest that exists here. The light over the fjord gives the place a magical view regardless of the weather. It is suitable to stay here if you want to enjoy the silence, lie and watch the clouds all day, swim, or fish. You can also be active and take a trip to the summer ski center at Folgefonna or the hike to Trolltunga, which has a starting point about 1 hour away. There are countless hiking opportunities nearby, so bring your hiking shoes. A path leads down to beautiful smooth rocks and a pebble beach, about a 5-minute walk. There is also a pier for fishing, and perhaps a free rowboat.
