Authentic Mountain Cabin from 1900 with Spectacular Nature and Endless Hiking Opportunities

Welcome to a charming and historic cabin built in 1900. This unique mountain cabin, originally used by dairy maids in the summer, offers an authentic experience without electricity, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Here you will truly find peace.

The cabin is located at 1100 meters above sea level, surrounded by untouched nature and several fishing lakes. The area is private, without marked trails, providing endless hiking opportunities in spectacular surroundings.

Explore the Cabin

The cabin consists of a hallway, living room, kitchen, kitchenette, and one bedroom. Despite its age, the space is well utilized, and the cabin feels spacious. The outdoor area has benches and tables made of stone, perfect for enjoying the fresh mountain air.

The bedroom has five sleeping places: a double bed, a single bed, and two shorter beds. Additionally, there is an older bed in the living room. The bedroom has recently been upgraded with longer and more comfortable beds as well as new mattresses. Even without electricity or running water, the cabin is well equipped with a gas stove, propane refrigerator, and an outdoor tap with fresh mountain water. The outdoor toilet is located in the old barn next to the cabin.

Experience Mountain Life

Around the cabin, you can often see sheep and reindeer grazing in the mountains. For those who enjoy fishing, there are several fishing lakes at various distances from the cabin, some require a fishing permit, which we can assist with. The hiking opportunities are many, and we have mapped out the best hikes in the area.

What Guests Say

Previous guests describe Jonskørstølen as a quiet and peaceful oasis. This is not a hectic cabin area, and there is a high likelihood that you will have the mountain area all to yourself.

Other Amenities

In the cabin, you will find board games, a deck of cards, books, and yatzy. Gas and propane are included in the price. There are also many candles and pillar candles available. Firewood is stored in the barn, and we provide bed linens, small towels, and hand soap.

Vi har drevet med utleie av glampingtelt siden 2019, og har bygget opp konseptet steg for steg med stor lidenskap for natur og kvalitet. For oss er dette mer enn en jobb – det er noe vi virkelig brenner for. Målet er å stadig videreutvikle opplevelsen og skape et unikt og magisk opphold der høyfjell og komfort møtes. Bak satsingen står vi, tvillingbrødre i midten av 30-årene, med felles mål, sterk gjennomføringsevne og et øye for detaljer. Sammen med god hjelp fra familien har dette vokst til å bli en liten familiebedrift. Med bakgrunn i vår store interesse for friluftsliv og erfaringer fra både Norge og utlandet, ønsker vi å skape et lite og særegent overnattingssted der natur, høyfjell og luksus går hånd i hånd.
