Authentic Mountain Farmhouse from 1900 with Spectacular Nature and Endless Hiking Opportunities

Welcome to a charming and historic farmhouse built in 1900. This unique mountain farmhouse, originally used by innkeepers in the summer, offers an authentic experience without electricity, which provides a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Here you will truly find peace.

The farmhouse is located at 1100 meters above sea level, surrounded by untouched nature and several fishing lakes. The area is private, without marked trails, which provides endless opportunities for hiking in spectacular surroundings.

Explore the Farmhouse

The farmhouse consists of a hallway, living room, kitchen, kitchenette and one bedroom. Despite its age, the space is well utilized, and the farmhouse feels spacious. The outdoor area has benches and tables made of stone, perfect for enjoying the fresh mountain air.

The bedroom has five beds: a double bed, a single bed and two shorter beds. In addition, there is an older bed in the living room. The bedroom has recently been upgraded with longer and more comfortable beds and new mattress toppers. Even without electricity or running water, the farm is well equipped with a gas stove, propane refrigerator, and an outside water tap with fresh mountain water. The outhouse is located in the old barn next to the farm.

Experience the Mountain Life

Around the farm you can often see sheep and reindeer grazing in the mountains. For those who like fishing, there are several fishing lakes at various distances from the farm, some require a fishing license, which we can help with. Hiking opportunities are numerous, and we have mapped out the best hikes in the area.

Previous guests describe Jonskørstølen as a quiet and peaceful oasis. This is not a hectic cabin camp, and it is very likely that you will have the mountain area all to yourself.

Other Facilities

At the farm you will find board games, a deck of cards, books and yatzi. Gas and propane are included in the price. There are also plenty of candles and log lights available. Firewood is stored in the barn, and we provide linens, small towels, and hand soap.
