Arctic Dome Valdres is located close to Jotunheimen's entrance gate in Vang i Valdres - 1150 m above sea level. A unique accommodation option where a small piece of luxury and comfort meets you with nature close by.
The dome is located in a private mountain area and has very spectacular scenery and views around it. Here everything is in order for a memorable experience! We can also say that we have now got a sauna and shower!

Welcome to the mountains! 

The place 
From the E16, it takes about 15 minutes to drive up to the dome. The way up is a typical stilt road that stretches from 500 m to 1150 m. The road is a little steep in a few places, but this is rarely a problem among our guests, but something we think is fine to inform about. We recommend having a car that is a little high up below. We offer a lift, but this must be agreed in advance. 

The dome has a large double bed with duvets and pillows, but you must bring your own bed linen. 
The dome also has a dining table with two chairs and a small cozy nook with two beanbags. The dome is also equipped with a gas stove that heats well. There are also solar-powered lamps and several battery-powered cube lights. There are also opportunities to charge your mobile phone at the solar system.

We have built a small kitchen next to the dome. Inside the kitchen there is all the equipment you need to cook good food. This consists of a gas cooker, gas fridge, sink, worktop and all cutlery, plates and glasses. 
It has also been made into a water tap just outside the dome with good, fresh mountain water.

The dome itself is placed on a large slab with outdoor furniture and a gas grill. Here you can enjoy the view on fine days. There is also outdoor lighting on the paving.

About 50 m from the dome there is an outdoor area. 

Animals are not allowed inside the dome due to allergies. If you want to bring a dog with you, this must therefore be left outside in a separate cage/blanket inside the dome. 

Around the dome you can often see both sheep and reindeer wandering around in the mountains. There are also several different fishing lakes within walking distance of the dome where it is possible to fish. In some of the waters you must have a fishing license, but we can help with this. Since the mountain area is private, there are no marked trails, but the hiking possibilities are endless.
What most people have given feedback on after spending a night, or more, in the dome is that it has been a wonderful and memorable experience. This is not a hectic cabin field and the resting heart rate will register fairly quickly when you get up there.

There is parking 20 meters from the dome with space for two cars.

The dome is located in the mountain village of Vang municipality. Other well-known places around that are possible to drive to are Filefjell, Tyin and Eidsbugarden where the hiking possibilities are endless. The area around the dome is untouched with several different mountain peaks you can visit. One of the most famous is Hødntind, which is written up on the map you will find in the dome in the information booklet. It is also possible to visit the Kongevegen over Filefjell where it stretches across the village just below the mountain area you are in.

In the dome, you will find an information booklet with everything you need to know. Including information about things you must do before you leave the dome as well as a map of the hiking area and fishing waters in the mountains around you.

Gas/propane is included in the price.
You must bring your own bed linen.
