At Gløtt Treehouse

Experience nature from a warm, modern, and well-designed tree cabin. The cabin is round, creating a very special atmosphere, and is located over the Tessungåe river, which originates from Hardangervidda. The experience focuses on the simple pleasures we have in nature, combined with modern architecture.

In the tree cabin, there is a sleeping loft, a separate alcove, and a large bunk bed. The kitchen has four gas burners and a refrigerator, and there is also a wet room where you can wash with water heated by a wood-burning stove. The cabin is in many ways like a traditional mountain cabin; you have to fetch water from the river and light candles in the evening. The cabin is right down by the riverbank, but it is not far to walk from the parking lot to the cabin. If you have a lot to carry, you can drive almost all the way to the entrance.

The kitchen is well equipped with kitchen utensils, and there are also some dry goods like salt, pepper, and tea. To cool items, freezing elements are used. We have two freezers located about 100 meters from the tree cabin. Here you can place the thawed cooling elements and pick up new ones. There are also opportunities to fetch drinking water. There is no oven in the cabin, so you need to plan meals that can be prepared on the stovetops.

There is a wet room with the possibility to wash. The water is heated on a wood-burning stove and brought into the bathroom. There is also a "emergency toilet" under the cabin, which must be emptied if used. Primarily, an outdoor toilet is used at the entrance to the tree cabin. We also have a sauna at the camp, about 100 meters from the cabin.

There is seating for 6 people in the cabin, and you can bring tables and chairs in from the porch if you want to sit. There are several LED lights available, both battery-operated and solar-powered. There are also many lanterns that use real candles.

In the sleeping loft, there is a 160 cm bed, in the second floor is the sleeping alcove with a 150 cm bed and the bunk bed with two 90 cm mattresses. These are divided into two separate rooms, but there is no door in between.

All railings comply with Norwegian building regulations, but we recommend that children under 10 years old do not stay alone in the tree cabin.
