Experience the Private Lavvu at Hardanger

A stay in Hardanger Basecamp offers an authentic, unique, and comfortable "Back to Nature - Back to Basics" experience. Our accommodations are situated at the shore of one of the most famous fjords in the world, the Hardanger Fjord, known as "the Queen of the Fjords" while you are also surrounded by steep 1 km high mountains that are part of the breath-taking 'Hardangervidda' mountain plateau.

It is this place that we offer you a unique accommodation. The cozy interior breath a natural and homey atmosphere. This is because of the antique and handmade furniture, the many different animal skins, antlers, and items used to decorate. In addition to the also included breakfast, it is possible to have lunch in the more than 100-year-old Osa Kafeen. We offer unique products and dishes with a lot of ingredients we handpicked from nature ourselves.

Stay in a private "Lavvu", a typical Scandinavian tipi-shaped tent. Hardanger Basecamp also offers accommodation to those who travel in an adventurous fashion. Whether or not you are an experienced free-camper, this is the perfect place to be. The Lavu is 20 m2 large and offers space for max. 4 persons who sleep on single hotel beds. The beds are ready-made with hotel linen and a large and small towel are provided (just like in a hotel). ​

The concept of "Camp B&B" is designed to give an ultimate experience to people who love "camping in the wild" and those who have never experienced it before but wish to give it a try.

​Your camp spot is surrounded by nature. The camp spot has a private fireplace with an adjustable grill. Preparing meals on the campfire is only possible and allowed when you book the additional "Cook Add-on".

Staying In our private Lavu allows you to experience the wild and rough nature of Norway while basic comfort is provided.
