Experience the private yurts in Hardanger

A stay in Hardanger Basecamp offers an authentic, unique, and comfortable "Back to Nature - Back to Basics" experience. Our accommodations are situated at the shore of one of the most famous fjords in the world, the Hardanger Fjord, known as "the Queen of the Fjords" while you are also surrounded by steep 1 km high mountains that are part of the breath-taking 'Hardangervidda' mountain plateau.

It is this place that we offer you a unique accommodation. The cozy interior breath a natural and homey atmosphere. This because of the antique and handmade furniture, the many different animal skins, antlers and items used to decorate. In addition to the also included breakfast, it is possible to have lunch in the more than 100-year-old Osa Kafeen. We offer unique products and dishes with a lot of ingredients we handpicked from nature ourselves.

We have 3 private yurts named "Flint", "Gran" and "Løvetann", each 22m2 suited for 2 to 4 persons. These yurts include 1 double bed with a single bed above, high table with chairs, low table with lounge chairs, cupboard, mirror, bed-linen, towels, extra pillows, and a fleece plaid. If the yurt is in use for 4 persons, we will use an inflatable extra bed.

Most furniture in all the yurts is antique or self-made and they are nicely decorated with reindeer, sheep, deer and moose skins and natural accessories.

Each yurt is part of a complex of two yurts separated with an entrance room with space for hanging clothes and storing shoes. Connected to this 2-yurt complex stands a very large roofed fireplace where you can cozily sit around a campfire and or prepare your meals with self-catered food. Preparing meals on the campfire is only possible and allowed when you book the additional "Cook Add-on".
