    About the property

    Property description
Meretes Garden is a completely unique glamping site in Valldal. This glamping is not only surrounded by some of Norway's most beautiful nature, but is also an idyllic retreat that really makes you relax and gather your thoughts.

Meretes Garden - Sustainability and well-being in one with nature
Merete has created glamping with a focus on sustainability and well-being. The glamping tents are made of organic cotton with experiences in contact with nature, with a minimal footprint. The place was created with the ulterior motive that staying in beautiful nature provides great health benefits for body and soul, as well as that people and nature should be in balance and that nature is a part of us in the same way that we are a part of it. You can really feel this atmosphere as soon as you arrive at Meretes Garden.

The place wants to be part of a more sustainable tourism, for the future. Here, our own food is grown without the use of chemicals and natures can grow freely. Merete's Glamping is based on reuse and glamping guests are also encouraged to contribute via source sorting and keep nature clean. The guest house at the glamping site is mainly made of natural materials.

At the glamping site in Valldal, Merete has created a unique offer that combines tent accommodation in contact with nature, yoga and mindfulness. Guests can choose to take part in planned workshops, go on adventures in nearby natural areas or simply relax in pleasant surroundings.

    The tents and glamping
At Meretes Garden there are 5 glamping tents, furnished for complete comfort with comfortable beds, interiors and comfortable bedding. All guests have access to the "Gullåna" bathhouse, where you will find modern facilities of shower, toilet and spa. The glamping also has a guest kitchen and glass greenhouse for retreats. Overnight guests have sauna and morning yoga included in the price.

    Meretes retreats and yoga
The owner Merete herself grew up on the farm and later trained in psychotherapy and yoga. She offers Yoga classes, mindfulness meditation to overnight guests. She also offers her own guided meditative walks. Otherwise, you can enjoy a relaxing sauna and spa at Gullåna bath house. The sauna can also be combined with "Yoga and Sauna."

Glamping in Valldal - Surrounded by spectacular nature
The glamping is located in the middle of the cream of Norwegian nature in the small village of Valldal, at the entrance to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Geirangerfjord and Tafjord. Meretes Garden works closely with local tourist operators in the area and is happy to help with tips for the tour guides or local experiences. The climbing park in Valldal is close by, with many offers for the whole family. Trollstigen is only half an hour's drive away, you can also go rafting in Valldøra or kayaking in Tafjorden. There are countless options for hiking in the vicinity of Meretes Garden, from shorter hikes such as Vikasætra (450m), the iconic day trip over Mefjellet or various hikes in Tafjordfjella, such as Heggesetra Kallskaregga. Canyoning in the Gudbrandsjuvet is also popular among the more thrill-seeking.

Valldal is otherwise known for juicy fruit and berries, so be sure to visit the farm shop to taste locally produced goods. You can also ask what is in season of Meretes Garden's own locally produced food.

      Secret tip
Start a hike right outside your tent floor. A forest road, also part of a pilgrim route to Trondheim, leads you up hill to a spectacular view over the village center and the fjord before you find a wooden made staircase which leads you down to a blessed monastery ground ( not built yet). A beautiful and a little airy place to enjoy your lunch.
