Meretes Garden is a unique glamping site in Valldal. This glamping site is not only surrounded by some of Norway's most beautiful nature, but is also an idyllic retreat that really makes you relax and gather your thoughts. We have equipped the glamping tents with good beds, down duvets, wool blankets and wooden or bamboo furniture.

There is a good, homemade breakfast included in the accommodation, with lots of fruit and berries from the region, sourdough bread and eggs from the farmer.

The bathhouse at the camp is luxuriously furnished and has a bathroom and dressing room with shower and bathtub. You can enjoy our lounge where you can relax in solid and beautiful furniture produced in the area. Here is a Finnish sauna, cold pool and outdoor shower. A delicate guest kitchen is well equipped with a food processor, refrigerator, basic spices, etc.

Our camp is designed to help our guests relax and really enjoy being on holiday here. Couples often come here as a stop on their honeymoon. We have also had guests get engaged, get married and celebrate big days here. This is a place that is perfect for groups of friends and work groups who want to experience something special together, .

Merete has created a glamping with sustainability and well-being in focus. The glamping tents have good breathability, made of cotton quality. The place was created with the idea that staying in beautiful nature provides great health benefits for body and soul. You can feel an atmosphere of calm as soon as you arrive at Meretes Garden.

The place wants to be part of a more sustainable tourism, for the future. Many buildings and furniture at Meretes Glamping are based on recycling and glamping guests are also encouraged to contribute by sorting at source and keeping nature clean. The guesthouse at the glamping is mainly set up from natural materials and restoration of old buildings.

At the glamping in Valldal, Merete has created a unique offer that combines tent accommodation in contact with nature, with yoga, mindfulness & spa. Guests can choose to take part in planned workshops, go on adventures in nearby natural areas or just relax in comfortable surroundings. You can book a massage with our skilled masseuse - be there early.

The tents and the glamping
At Meretes Garden there are 6 glamping tents, furnished with comfortable beds, comfortable bedding and interior. All guests have access to the bathhouse “Gullåna” where you will find modern and inviting facilities such as shower, toilet and sauna. During the summer season you can also book a massage (book well in advance). The glamping also has a well-equipped guest kitchen where it is pleasant to cook. We do yoga in an old greenhouse, full of good atmosphere and surrounded by the sounds of nature. Overnight guests have sauna and morning yoga (3 mornings; Monday-Wednesday- and Fridays) included in the price.

Merete's retreats and yoga
The owner Merete grew up on the farm and later trained in yoga and psychotherapy. She offers yoga classes, conversation, mindfulness to overnight guests. Merete lives at the retreat with her cats and sheepdog, Bowie.

Glamping in Valldal - Surrounded by spectacular nature
The glamping is located in the middle of the cream of Norwegian nature in the small village of Valldal, at the entrance to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Geirangerfjord and Tafjord. Merete's Garden works closely with local tourist operators in the area and is happy to help with tips for guided tours or local experiences. The climbing park in Valldal is nearby, with many offers for the whole family. The Trollstigen is only a half-hour drive away, you can also go rafting in Valldøra or kayaking in Tafjorden. There are countless hiking opportunities near Meretes Garden, from shorter hikes such as Klovseter, Heggesetra or Nysetra, the iconic day hike over Mefjellet or various hikes in the Tafjordfjella, such as Kallskaregga. Canyoning in Gudbrandsjuvet is also popular among the more thrill-seeking.

Valldal is also known for its juicy fruits and berries, so be sure to stop by the farm shop to taste locally produced goods.
