A little about us:
We are Benjamin and Charlotte, an adventurous couple with two lovely girls, a handful of four-legged family members, and a shared belief that life is too short to let dreams remain just dreams.
We met in Copenhagen in 2013. Our first date took place on a climbing wall, and perhaps it was there that the foundation was laid for the life we live today. Ever since, we have approached life with curiosity, determination, and a desire to embrace new challenges. We are different in many ways, but we share the same drive: to create a life that feels meaningful, vibrant, and filled with experiences.
When we got married, we made a special agreement with each other. We promised that throughout our lives, we would undertake three radical life changes. Not because change itself is the goal, but because we never wanted to grow stuck in a routine where dreams only live when we sleep.
In 2021, it was time for the first major life change.
We packed up life in Copenhagen, said goodbye to the villa, Volkswagen, and city life, took our two girls under our arms, and moved across the country. Far away from family, friends, and everything familiar, we headed towards
Midtjylland without really knowing what awaited us. Quite literally.
Here we fell for an idyllic farm just 10 minutes outside of Herning.
It was love at first sight.
The farm was named Schellerup Gård – named after Charlotte's beloved grandmother, who was born in Thisted in 1925. Schellerup was her maiden name, and for us, it was a beautiful way to carry on her story, values, and warmth. Therefore, both we and the farm proudly bear her name today.
We took the leap without the faintest idea of owning or running a farm. And we knew even less about running a farm hotel – which only came into consideration after we had moved to Jutland.
Everyone thought we were crazy when we shared our plans. But we had a dream, and we had the courage to pursue it.
Today, the farm has become the framework for the life that started as a dream. Peace, presence, and a life close to nature.
No two days are the same. I, Benjamin, went from a life as an office worker in the big city, where I worked with award-winning campaigns and strategies and had a dream job at PlayStation, to living a completely different life in the countryside today.
Schellerup Gård is a shared family adventure, but in daily life, it is me who manages the operations. Charlotte is also a huge part of my everyday life – she is my most important sparring partner. However, she also has her own work life alongside.
So when you visit us, send an email, or participate in an event, it is usually me you meet. I am the one who cleans, mows the lawn, builds, paints, repairs, develops new projects, does accounting, lights the sauna, hosts events, and welcomes guests. From host, craftsman, and sauna master to advisor, coach, and everything in between – many hats have been added to the shelf… and it is magical!
We love the life we have created here. We love the farm, the nature around us, the community, our animals, and not least each other.
Today, Schellerup Gård is much more than a place – it is our life and home that we have opened up for others.
It is the culmination of a dream we dared to follow. A place where we create memories every day, meet people, help people, and build upon the life we once only dared to imagine.
Our mantra has followed us all the way:
“I dream with my eyes open.”

“Welcome to Schellerup Gård ❤️ Our little farm is currently run by myself (Benjamin), my wife (Charlotte), our two daughters (Sif and Lily), and not to forget our teddy dog Sander. Together we have created a small oasis in the midst of nature – born out of a passion and a dream we have carried with us for a long time. A dream of a place where the pace can slow down, the shoulders can drop, and where there is space to be human. Down to earth and authentic, as we believe it should be. Schellerup Gård is not just a place to stay for us. It is a place to breathe deeply again. An authentic, present, and personal getaway where nature, tranquility, and comfort go hand in hand. Here there is room for romantic getaways, calm trips with friends, or just a much-needed break from everyday life. Do you dream of waking up in the silence of nature, surrounded by open fields and fresh country air? Then you have landed in the right place. Here, the shoulders automatically drop. You step out of the tent to the sound of birds singing and soft horizons as the morning quietly unfolds. Every single detail is carefully selected to give you the feeling of luxury in the great outdoors – cozy, aesthetic, and with plenty of space to just be. As evening falls, you can enjoy the sunset over the landscape, light up the coziness, and feel the silence settle in. It is precisely those moments that we ourselves fell for – and which we wish to share with you. The farm has its own history. Schellerup Gård was originally built in 1910, consisting of a main building, a barn, and 12 hectares of agricultural land. In 1960, an additional wing was built, and the land was converted to forest areas. We took over the farm in the autumn of 2021 with a great desire: to make Schellerup Gård a fantastic place for ourselves, our children, our local community – and not least for you, our guests. We have many plans for the future, but we continue to run the farm in the same spirit and with deep respect for history. For us, Schellerup Gård is about farm idyll and magic. And we look forward to welcoming you ✨”
