Our Adventure to a Treehouse in Feiring

Together with my two best friends, I drove an hour from Oslo to Feiring to stay high up in the treetops and hike to Eidsvoll's highest point.

Treehouse

Together with my two best friends, Martin and André, we spent a night in an architect-designed cabin high up among the treetops. After just an hour's drive from central Oslo, we arrived in the idyllic village of Feiring in northern Eidsvoll. Our goal for the trip was to hike to Eidsvoll's highest point, Skreikampen, which sits 698 metres above sea level.

Along the way, we also learned about the village's rich mining history, where iron ore and emeralds were once extracted. We looked forward to enjoying the view with a cup of coffee on the veranda and cooking dinner over the fire as darkness fell. We were lucky with the weather and managed to do everything we'd hoped for.

Where we stayed

Our Stay in the Cabin

The cabin was bright, modern and clean, and we were pleasantly surprised as soon as we stepped inside. The bathroom had underfloor heating, a shower and a toilet, which made the stay extra comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the beds were made up with soft linen. There was also chopped firewood available, so it was easy to light the fireplace.

The view from the cabin was fantastic, and since the cabin was fairly secluded, we could really enjoy the silence. The only sound we heard was sheep in the distance.

The Highlights of the Stay

It was the combination of the bright, modern cabin and the total peace high up in the trees.

From morning coffee on the veranda to evenings around the fire pit, everything felt like an escape from everyday life.

Things to Do in and Around Feiring

There's plenty to keep you busy. Light the fire pit and cook outdoors, enjoy your morning coffee on the veranda, and take the hike up to Skreikampen for the view. If you want to get to know the area, you can visit the old mining sites, where iron ore and emeralds were once extracted. In the evening, there are board games in the cabin.
