In September, my mum, my partner and I travelled to Rindal in Norway to experience staying in a treehouse, unplug and enjoy nature. We stayed in Jon's amazing treehouse, an idyllic cabin beautifully set among the trees, exactly what we needed.
The amazing surroundings, combined with modern amenities such as a cosy wood-burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen, a terrace with a fire pit and comfortable beds, made the stay truly special for all of us.
The adventure began with a 900-metre walk from the car park to the cabin. We walked through beautiful, rugged terrain, surrounded by tall mountains, pine trees and dense blueberry bushes. When we reached the top of the hill, we caught sight of the treehouse, tucked away among the trees, with a thick mist hovering behind it. The trail was a bit boggy, but that only made the experience feel more like an authentic nature adventure. When we arrived at the cabin, we lit the wood-burning stove, warmed up and dried our shoes while exploring the cabin and enjoying the fantastic view.
The cabin exceeded all our expectations. The cosy wood-burning stove, the terrace with fire pit and the fully equipped kitchen made the stay a luxurious nature experience. Upstairs, we could lie in bed and listen to the rain drumming on the roof while looking out over the mountains. It was the perfect blend of wilderness and comfort, a true Norwegian nature adventure.

There's plenty to experience. The walk from the car park is an adventure in itself, surrounded by mountains and beautiful vegetation, and along the way you can pick fresh blueberries from the bushes. In the evening, you can light the fire pit on the terrace and toast bread or marshmallows, and the terrace is also perfect for breakfast with a view of the mountain, where you might spot some wildlife. From the bed upstairs, there's a magical view over the mountains, and otherwise it's all about switching off your phone and enjoying the silence.
