My friend and I packed our weekend bags and headed to Gnist Glass Cabin in Sørumsand. We wanted to get away from the city a bit and take a proper break from the pace of everyday life, and that's exactly what we did here.
What drew us in most was that the cabin had both a jacuzzi and a sauna, and we were looking forward to enjoying a weekend of total relaxation. We got exactly what we wanted: a peaceful little spa oasis just a short drive from Oslo.
Where We Stayed
The fact that Gnist was so close to Oslo, yet felt so far from city life, was a great bonus. The location created an instant sense of calm. The cabin sits beautifully with views over the Glomma river, and around us we had everything we needed: our own stretch of shoreline, a jacuzzi, sauna and fire pit right outside the door.
When we arrived, the hosts had made it extra special for us, we were greeted with a welcome basket filled with snacks and face masks, and the bathrobes were neatly wrapped and waiting. It was clear that everything here was set up for the perfect spa weekend.
A Unique Experience
It was the jacuzzi with a view and the private sauna right by the water's edge that made the stay so special.
With our own stretch of shoreline on the Glomma, a fire pit for the outdoor area and a welcome basket filled with little spa touches, we felt pampered from the very first moment.

A Little More About the Place
Try out the sauna, it's a must. The jacuzzi was warm throughout our stay, so we could just jump in as soon as we arrived at the cabin. Also take a walk down to the shoreline and enjoy the view over the beautiful Glomma river and the surrounding nature, you can take a dip here too if you like. In the evening, the fire pit is perfect for grilling dinner after a walk outdoors.
