I packed my bag and went on a trip with my mum and little sister to a treehouse in Sågvåg with a fantastic view. The goal was a relaxing mini-holiday in a treehouse, and to celebrate my sister's 24th birthday in a truly special way. We wanted peace, nature and a dose of adventure, and we got all that and more.
Our Unique Stay at the Treehouse Ørnablikk
The trip started with about an hour's hike up to the cabin on the mountain Dyvikesåto. The trail was wet and slippery at times, so good hiking boots are a must. But the scenery along the way was absolutely lovely, and it made the hike worth it. When we reached the cabin, we were completely speechless, what a magical place!
The cabin is called Ørnablikk, and the name couldn't be more fitting. It sits literally up in the treetops and has a view that took our breath away. It felt like walking straight into a fairy tale, with an entrance reminiscent of something from a fantasy film.
The cabin is built of wood, surrounded by forest, with large windows everywhere that gave the feeling of sleeping under an open sky. It was warm and cosy, and calm settled in as soon as we stepped inside. The outdoor area was also perfect, with a large terrace, a barbecue and seating where we could enjoy the silence and the fresh mountain air.
A Magical Experience
There were so many things we fell in love with: the spectacular view, the cabin's unique design, the cool beds, fresh air and the feeling of having nature all to ourselves.
An extra highlight was sitting with binoculars watching eagles soar right past, it felt almost surreal. There are binoculars available to borrow in the cabin, so make sure you use them!
