In July, my family and I headed into the magnificent Norwegian mountains, eager to explore the country's impressive natural beauty. We were drawn to the rugged mountain peaks, roaring waterfalls and pristine lakes. Our destination was glamping at Skogkanten in Snertingdal, a peaceful hideaway that promised the perfect blend of comfort and wilderness.
Our goal was to unwind from everyday routines and immerse ourselves in the calm of nature. The highlights of the trip were the unforgettable sunrises, which bathed the majestic landscape in a magical glow that perfectly complemented our outdoor adventures.
Where We Stayed
The journey to our glamping site in Snertingdal was an adventure in itself, as we drove through picturesque landscapes that grew more beautiful with every kilometre. On arrival, we were immediately captivated by the impressive natural beauty around us. The glamping tent was set against a dramatic backdrop of lush green nature and towering mountains, giving us a stunning panoramic view.
The tent exceeded our expectations and combined rustic charm with luxurious comfort. It was beautifully furnished with cosy furniture and elegant decor, creating a calm and enchanting atmosphere, especially at sunrise, when the first light of day cast a warm, golden glow over the mountains and our tent. This unique blend of comfort and wilderness made our stay truly unforgettable.

The sunrises were something else entirely, with the golden glow over the mountains, seen right from the soft bed in the tent, becoming one of the trip's most beautiful moments.

Things to Do in the Snertingdal Wilderness
There's plenty to do in the wilderness. Take a 6-kilometre loop hike through the beautiful forest that leads to a peaceful lake. In the evening, you can gather around the campfire, share stories and roast marshmallows under the starry sky. Keep an eye out for local wildlife such as deer, eagles and various bird species in their natural habitat.
